You could wind the clock back to 1995 and these exact words could be said about Mario. I wonder if that is pure coincidence or if Mario's mentoring has something to do with it.

I'm not sure it is envy of his instant success and the marketing of him as the face of the NHL that causes teams to get after him. I think it might have more to do with it being an effort to get him off his game and because of his attitude. He is certainly no angel himself. You can't two hand slash Seguin and then cry because you got two minutes to think about it. You can't get in the opposing goalies face after the period ends then take a jab at an opposing defenseman while literally hiding behind the ref. He needs to leave that stuff to Cook and sack up and act like a captain should.

I love his game but have little respet for his entitlement attitude.

Should be a great series.

Bruins in seven.

Two words: Jonathan Toews

That is what a captain acts like.

Serious question.

Has Crosby always been such a whinny little pansy or is that Mario's influence?

Watching him throw his fits is just like watching Mario and his antics in the 90's.

Was Crosby this way before he hit the NHL?
He has always been a little...kitty. He has a soccer attitude when it comes to flopping, and he plays hockey. The guy is a punk. He can play, I'll give him that, but he's still a little wuss.

There probably isn't a more hated player in the entire league, if I had to guess, though I think Ovi is probably closing that gap because Cindy has always been hurt.

Ryan Callahan
Dustin Brown
Alfredson
Staal
Zetterberg...

There are a bunch of really good captains in the league right now. The problem is that the best leaders are the least assuming, so, in some cases, they aren't really well known outside of the hockey community. That's the tough reality, and part of the reason why Cindy seems like a great captain, when the reality is quite different.

the way both teams are playing, Bruins in 4.

this is pitiful and i am so ticked off at the way the first two games have gone. I am losing hope. I was afraid of Boston before the series cause of their D. I guess my fear was legitimate.

Go Pens

Well I was thinking six but Bruins fans are usually not ones to tempt fate.

I did not see that domination coming. The Bruins have frustrated their fans all season with showing that sort of domination for a few shifts, maybe a period, but more often then not they would stop skating and let their opponent back in the game.

Hockey is unique in that a team built to score a lot of goals and take advantage of the power play will win you the President's Trophy in the regular season but more often then not won't win you squat in the playoffs where everything tightens up and the power plays are harder to come by.

Being a superstitious Bruins fan who has seen it all I am not counting out the Pens by any stretch even though they have to win two in Boston. I've seen it happen before.

They can't really be that bad, can they?

The Pens have 0 leadership. I know Morrow and Iginla have been, but they haven't been there long enough.

They have a coward for a captain, and it shows in games like that.

Not looking good for the Pens. On another note, it is looking real good for my Hawks. I am a little scared of the Bruins, if the Hawks advance.

I wanted the Hawks to play the Bruins, but the Bruins look like they are in Cup mode. It could be a series for the ages. I am going to need more booze.

Haven't watched the Hawks much at all this playoffs. I did watch the game last night. I was left with the impression that I might regret my wish for a Bruins/Hawks final.

I did notice the almost complete lack of physical play from both teams last night, at least compared to what I been seeing in the Bruins' run so far.

Can the Hawks play the physical game when they need to?

If they can they scare me as a Bruins fan.

I've noticed with the Kings, they seem to be bigger and more physical, the downside of that is the Hawks being younger and faster, they can not keep up. I am hoping the same hold true, if the Hawks and the Bruins meet. You see how good the Kings "Best goalie in the NHL" is doing without the D dominating. I don't think the Bruins goalie is as good.

One of the things I do not like of Bowman is his lack of acquiring the right Big physical player to stand in front of the net. HE got lucky with the cup run, with Dustin Byfuglien, and they figured out how to deal with Pronger. And now, Bickell has stepped up, but he probably won't be retained after this season. I just hope he doesn't go out again and sign 40yr old "grit", like last season.

No, they are just fast. But then again they survived Detroit, who kept taking cheap shots.

The Hawks were REALLLLLY bad in some of that Detroit series. They dominated at home and stole one in LA. I am not too worried. I would love to keep Bickell though, he has been mediocre for too long to let him go somewhere else. It does seem like the league is going to bigger players, but our puck possesion is amazing. I say our.....I am a long time Chicago transplant. I went to games with 3,000 other people.

Teams need size if they dont have skill. It doesnt matter if you have a bunch of Chara's out there if they can't hold the puck.

Ohh yeah, there was a lot of BAD in the Detroit series. Detroit figured out how to take Toews out of the games. Once Q, countered by not giving them the Toews-Zetterberg matchup, they got back on track.

As for Bickell staying, it might be cap issues. I know they have to sign Bickell, Leddy, Emery, Stalberg(sp?), and I thought 1 more, plus they buyouts of Olesz and Montador. And Brookbank, needs to go, he is soooooooo bad.

I agree, but as a Hawks fan, that means John Scott or a 40yr old, which I want neither of.

It is a cap issue, I would trade Leddy for Bickell. Emery is dunzo. We got the finnish superstar goalie this week.

I was reading a Hawks board, and they said something to the effects of, If Emery take a cheap deal, you would have to let Bickell go and can resign the rest, but if you sign Bickell, then 2 of those FAs have to go, or you can get rid of Oduya and resign them all. I would rather have Leddy, I think there is more to come with him. We just need to buy some stickem, so he stops losing his stick all the time.

I forgot, Frolick and Kruger are FAs too.

i'm bitter
i'm angry
i'm dumbfounded
i'm frustrated
i'm sad
i'm disappointed

my hockey season is now over......we got swept under the rug like a dustball.

I have to give an immense amount of credit to the Bruins, their D, and their goaltending. They put on an absolute clinic.

Well, time to focus on my Spurs for the next week or so.......and here is to next season.

GO PENS and GO SPURS GO

I hope the Hawks can play the Bruins, like they did the Kings.
