Marinelli is what has helped teach our team to strip the ball, gang tackle, and always look to intercept the ball. The players are doing that but with that said, our defense just isn't that good. We get the turnovers but we also let the other teams score plenty. Our offense needs to step up IMO. We no our defense isn't that good but they will still get you turnovers. We have to be more aggressive on offense if we want to win.

I would agree with this. If the turnovers keep coming, I would be happy losing some of that differential and pressing more on the offensive side. It won't be popular here, but if Romo needs to throw an because he's being aggressive, then so be it.

We have. We've scored 60 points off of those turnovers. That's 5th best in the league. We had 52 points all of last year.

If I could somehow showcase this post in this thread I would. Major applause.

This right here.

4 turnovers from the Lions and Dallas has 13 points in the 4th quarter, 7 of which came on a drive starting at the Lions 4 yard line.

The offense is sandbagging the team right now in so many ways. Redzone efficiency is way up, turnovers are down but the problem is the team just doesn't get to the redzone as often as they should be. Which is really weird because they used to get there often and just screw it up for a FG or worse.

Also, if we scored on every TO the defense had created we are likely 8-0 with nobody caring how many yards we're giving up.

I agree with that. The only thing that is scary is we have all seen the aggressive Romo and what that leads to. It's still better than what we are doing now though.. which is playing scared.

I am OK with Romo turning the ball over if the defense is getting it back. Last year we would have been a playoff team if the defense was turning the ball over as much as it is now, and that's with a lot more offensive turnovers to start the year.

I'm gonna have to agree with you. Our offense just isn't aggressive enough.. that is why Dez was losing his mind. He knows we are better than what we showed on Sunday. We know our defense is good enough to get some turnovers here and there but that ultimately they are going to give up a chunk of points, we we have to be more aggressive on offense to win games. The last 3 games our offense has looked like crap. The only reason we won against Washington and Philly is their offenses were horrible... not because our played well.

That's just not going to happen. I don't think it's ever happened in the history of the league. the defense has done more than enough as far as turnovers and we've done a pretty good job in capitalizing on those turnovers.

Yeah, I know that we're not going to score a TD on everyone--I'm not ********. But I also don't think we,ve done a good job. Without stats in from of me, I would say that on most TOs we punt, followed by FG, followed by TD.

Here are the stats. We're number 5 in capitalizing on turnovers in the league.

I just gave you stats. We are fifth in the league in points off turnovers/takeaway points. We are doing a good job.

I always felt this was the important number for a team. I guess this takes the wind outta the sails of this theory. I suppose to be a successful while having a good turnover differential, it wouldn't hurt to be literally the worst team in terms of yards allowed

I don't get it. We have HOF TE in Witten and two explosive receivers in T. Williams and D. Bryant. guys who can take a routine catch and turn it into a touchdown, and yet we are stuck dink and dunking down the field like we have Alex Smith and some unknown receivers. We are playing the whole game conservative instead of playing conservative when we have like a 28 point lead with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter. We only open up in the 4th quarter when teams catch up or we are behind and constantly put the onus on the defense to make a last minute stop or Romo to make a miracle drive.

While we haven't capitalized enough on the turnovers that we've had, we wouldn't have been close in last weekend's game an probably would have lost against the Giants. The opposing drives that you stop are also meaningful as well.

Alex Smith and those unknown receivers have a perfect record and lead in TO differential. The key difference is that their defense doesn't bleed yards.

One punt against Denver I think? The only other stop was an interception. That's just....terrible.

Notice how the Lions took Witten out of this game with double coverage. They weren't worried about shutting down Dez but boy they wanted to make sure Witten got shut down. That is because they know Witten is Romo's security blanket and if you take him completely out of the game Romo panics. Romo should have made them pay for that though and gone to Dez over and over again... the same way Stafford went to Megatron.
