2016 QB Class

Next years draft will not be that good eithter.Rosen is the only one i think has a chance to be a franchise QB as Darnold probably is going back

Deep threats are overrated

He needs a 110 catch, 1500 yard receiver

Yeah, there's nothing more overrated than the ability to take the top off a defense. Has absolutely no impact on the field.

The Cowboys rushing attack will eat into some of Dak's passing yards and touchdown statistics.

Wentz is a more polished passer than Dak and has pretty good deep ball. Dak is very good at running his offense, he needs to improve his down the field passing to reach the next level.

You guys keep talking about his deep ball but I constantly see him overthrowing receivers.....rarely see his deep ball on display.

Wentz has a beautiful long ball
Dak has the determination

Dak is truly FIERCE.

It's cliche as all heck, but this kid has the "Eye of the Tiger"... He is a true warrior on the football field. He is violently about winning football games. I can get behind that. I think he will struggle here and there within games probably his entire career- but when he gets it going it's a train of bad things for a defense to contend with.

We won w Carter. Not pretty but we won more than we lost w him.

Q ruined himself with bad decisions under the wrong coach to tempt.

IMO, he wasn't all that bad and was looking like he could take the next step before his final screw up. In fact, that Cowboys team in totality was so lousy he might have been the most dangerous offensive player on the squad. That is not hyperbole.

QuINTsy? QuINTsy???

I'm not usually a super draftnik. But because the Cowboys were going to draft a quarterback, I watched a lot of tape that offseason. On film, Wentz looked amazing. It wasn't just that he threw a great ball. It's that he knew where to put it - over the outside shoulder, low away from the defender, etc. And he ran like a halfback, low and shifty. I thought we should have moved mountains to draft him. But I doubt even Risen Star would have said he'd be MVP by year 2.

Goff appeared to be the most pro-ready, but a year of Jeff Fisher can change that. He always knew where to place the ball to let the receiver make more yardage. That's what really stood out.

I didn't love Dak's tape. But I tried to temper my disappointment with the Cowboys' fascination because he scored really well on an analytics test that had predicted Russell Wilson's success. If there was a guy that you were going to take in a later round, that made him the right choice.

I didn't like Paxton Lynch. Too many short passes to too many wide open receivers. His one game against a good team (Miss. St.) showed that he didn't have the same placement that Wentz had, IMO. But I wouldn't have said he had no ability or chance. I still wouldn't, even if watching Brock Osweiler from the bench isn't promising. Hackenberg and the Michigan State qb were just arm candy/all the tools choices that people should avoid.

Speaking of Lynch he still can't crack the starting lineup over Osweiler.

Dak is better at running the offense and knowing when to run. Both are very good passing when the play breaks down. Wentz is the better passer from the pocket within the designed offense esp the deep ball. Dak has to develop that more because to be a great QB long term you need to be very good at reading defenses and be a very good passer from the pocket.

Both are talented and 'good enough'. Long term the better QB will be the one that puts in more work. I know Dak will. I don't know about wentz.

will anything ever top 1983?
Not likely what a year and draft especially with Elway and Marino, being the alpha and omega of the first round.
I wrote Goff off last year, whomever is coaching him needs to be on our team. Make it happen Jerry.
