2016 QB Class

I'm not usually a super draftnik. But because the Cowboys were going to draft a quarterback, I watched a lot of tape that offseason. On film, Wentz looked amazing. It wasn't just that he threw a great ball. It's that he knew where to put it - over the outside shoulder, low away from the defender, etc. And he ran like a halfback, low and shifty. I thought we should have moved mountains to draft him. But I doubt even Risen Star would have said he'd be MVP by year 2.

No way Wentz is mvp. He isn''t even the best qb this season. The guy is only completing 60.5% of his passes. People are only lookiing at his amount of tds, not the other statistics for qbs. Other qb's having better seasons...Alex Smith and Tom Brady.

who cares who is better between Dak and Wentz.
Cowboy fans who like wentz better than dak (or eagle fans who like Dak better than Wentz for that matter) must not have had a pretty childhood.
Lots of issues there

Not likely what a year and draft especially with Elway and Marino, being the alpha and omega of the first round.
I wrote Goff off last year, whomever is coaching him needs to be on our team. Make it happen Jerry.

The guy that's coaching him is the coach they brought in from Washington.

What are you talking about?

He attacks the defenses which is the best way to run the offense.
I hope the FO has noticed and taken notes for the boys. All three of the QB's are playing at franchise level my hat is also off to Wade Wilson who has persevered through some pretty raw talent that the cowboys have assembled at backup QB.

The year is 2026 and this is what we will read.

Dak Prescott 4th round pick in 2016 continues a very impressive career with 3rd super bowl win
Jared Goff 1st pick in 2016 has had a truly nice career and has made it to 2 super bowls winning one.
Carson Wentz the 2nd pick in 2016 has put up impressive numbers and has had a very good career, unfortunately the Eagles have not made it to the Super Bowl in his 10 years.
Risen has not been heard from since 2017.

th

Nice to dream, and I would take it. Hopefully the Eagles don't win it this year.

Here's a good question.
In a re-draft with every team with hindsight, which QB gets selected first from the 2016 draft?
I still take Dak.
Wentz would be 1st and Dak would be second. NFL also goes for the pure passer first.

You guys keep talking about his deep ball but I constantly see him overthrowing receivers.....rarely see his deep ball on display.

obvious answer is that his receivers are under running his pass.

Next years draft will not be that good eithter.Rosen is the only one i think has a chance to be a franchise QB as Darnold probably is going back

is that what the rumor mill is? would he really go back if he's slated to be a top 10 pick? pretty risky if you ask me....i'm all for an education but i don't tell my own child to turn that down with risk for injury and other things. an education you can always go back for if it is important to you.

wentz has lots of skills to love. but we've found out that it takes more than just skills to be an nfl qb. otherwise there wouldn't be nearly as many qb busts in the nfl and players like brady, romo, dak, wilson wouldn't have been missed on.

I'm fascinated to know what the real story is on Brissett. Trading a young QB--and not for high picks--so quickly after drafting him? And doing it right around the time when they made up their mind to ship the #2 guy out of town, too?

I definitely feel like something is up with that whole situation.
