2016 Texas Rangers Thread

Welp, what a cruddy start to the season 1-3 and the one win was pure luck.......

So far I LOVE our Starting Pitching, Defense, Speed and Baserunning......But our Offense and Bullpen stink like nothin else thus far.....I know its only 4 games, no need to panic, but still.......

The consolation is the Astros are keeping pace with the Rangers! LOL!

I wouldn't worry about the Angels, A's or Mariners.

The Rangers will hit, just like the Astros starting pitching will come around.

Just a rough start to the season.

Griffin might have been an underrated pickup. Injured last two seasons but 21-0 when given 3 runs of run support.

Also, for the Austin Rangers fans. Gallo, Mazara, Brinson, and Profar are all going to be playing for the Round Rock Express team to start the year. That's pretty cool.

Rangers starting to pick up steam.

Yu with a quality start. Hamels and Yu makes a great 1-2, Lewis is a solid 3, Perez and Holland aren't bad at all for 4-5, and I expect Holland to improve as he progresses. He's had some real quality starts, but a bad outing here and there have made his ERA look worse than it is.

AJ Griffin was a great fill in, will be nice adding him to the bullpen.

How about Mazara? Guy is a legitimate ROY candidate. Profar is also playing some decent ball too. Some nice young talent on this team.

Desmond has been a nice surprise too, guy has been crushing it lately.

Only real negative right now is the lack of hitting by Prince and Mitch. I wouldn't be surprised to see Gallo get a shot at 1B or DH if it continues.

Send Prince down to Round Rock! lol...no but seriously, might could be a trade piece for somebody that needs power and thinks maybe he just needs another change of scenery.......but anyway......just won this series with the M's, we are still on fire yall!

This sweep was sweet. I had been reading from time to time at the Mariner's SBNation blog. (no, I wasn't commenting, I generally don't talk crap unless someone else starts it) Anyhow, they were blabbering all the time how they were clearly the best team in the division though they couldn't figure out how the Rangers were holding on to the lead. They were saying, how once we match up head to head, they would put us in our place.

Yeah, nope, but someone got put in their place.

I follow Cowboys Reporter Dave Helman on twitter, he's a Mariners fan. (because of Griffey Jr. he claims) Anyway he loves to smack talk, so that made the sweep that much better.....we do go back to their place this weekend though, watch them turn around and return the favor....

Sadly no. There really isn't much the Rangers can do with him, other than hope and pray he turns it around. Its just been such a disappointment after him and Mitch had quality 2015s and are both struggling. He will just get plenty of days off until he fixes it.

We've got to find room for Profar. I think he's a somewhat wasted talent at DH but it might make the most sense for now at least this season barring injuries. Mitch Moreland should be playing 1st until Gallo is potentially ready to take over that position. I don't want anything to do with Fielder at 1st, his defense is atrocious. I think Fielder will have to sit on the bench most of the time and be an extra left handed bat. If Gallo is ready to play 1st and we want Mitch to have a job then he might be able to play some left field with Rua but I guess that does us no good when Choo is back (very soon).It seems like a tough problem, but considering where the team is sitting at right now it's a good problem to have. Go Rangers.

This team is looking special guys, just strap in and enjoy the ride. Hopefully we can stay this hot, but all these guys will get cold at some point I just hope everyone else can step up.

Sweeping the Astros again would be a thing of beauty. Yu and Perez have a shot to do that.
