Agree in general, but there is no reason to cut Hanna, Wilbur, Dunbar or Jack Crawford.

-Hanna prolly won't get cut if he's healthy, but his micro fracture surgery is potentially career-ending.

-Dunbar is on the roster for only one reason: big plays. When did he last make a big play?

I would like to keep Church, McClain, Carr and Butler, I think they will think reasonable deals
This list exactly.

Mo is a more capable CB than Carr, but his availability has been consistently inconsistent since we've drafted him.

Dunbar, D.McFadden, Escobust, Wilcox, R. McClain, Sanchez, etc......BYE FELICIA!

Rolando McClain is already gone
Morris Claiborne most likely another one year deal or a 2-3 Sean Lee deal
Ron Leary can't afford to keep him. Wish we could but it's not realistic.
Barry Church I would look to upgrade this position. I would only resign to league min or close to min.
Mark Sanchez never won without a great defense and we don't have a great defense. Good bye.
Andrew Gachkar Bye Bye
Darren McFadden Bye Bye
Lance Dunbar With Darius Jackson waiting I think Dunbar is expendable. I would bring him back on a 1 year deal for the min but I think he has value to another club and someone will pay him a little. Can't stand seeing him in there and Zeke on the sidelines in 3rd down situations.
Jack Crawford has been very good but just lacks the talent. Thank you for your hard work. Good bye and good luck.
Gavin Escobar is another wasted 2nd round pick in my book. Funny thing is this is about the time one would be looking to use a high pick on a TE but Swain looked good and if Hanna can recover he is more than worthy of playing time. GOOD BYE!
Terrell McClain has come on this year but has also disappeared some. Teams aren't running the ball great on us so he is a big part to that.
Justin Durant Bye Bye
Johsua Thomas Bye Bye
Terrance Williams market might be a weird one. However it is time to move on unless he comes back on a 1 year incentive deal.
Kellen Moore would be a good 3rd string QB. If I am Dallas I do the opposite of every great QB problem and I keep Romo. It took us 7 years to find a QB after Aikman and I would much rather just keep Tony throughout his contract and once his contract is up Dak gets paid. Tony might not be thrilled but as you saw last season a team without a QB isn't a team at all.
J.J. Wilcox is laying the wood out there and I would consider resigning. Something like a 1-2 year deal but I would also strongly look to upgrade this slot with some speed.
Brice Butler looks good when on the field. I would look to give him a 1 year deal over Terrance Williams.

It is mute anyways.......Leary is going to get paid and it won't be from us

Midas whale leave Leary at RG for the ROS though

We will regret it. Just stupid to let him go and create a void at RT. Free is getting old. Green is never available and we still don't know if he can even play.

People talk like he will end up in Philly, but looking outside the organization, I drool to think what Desean Jackson would bring to this offense opposite Dez....taking the top off offenses, hitches, screens with our OL, punt returns. He seems like he's been a thorn in our side for a long time, but the guy is only 30 at the end of the season.

It won't happen, but he will have an impact wherever he goes.

How about drafting Ross from Washington? 4.25 40, may be Desean Jax 2.0

Romo won't be here in '17.

Sanchez is the perfect backup. He's started quite a bit in the league and knows he's not really starter material at this point. He's probably willing to take a contract just like the one he's on now (about $2 mil per season)... Experience, cost... Sanchez is the perfect backup.

Chaz played great at LT when we needed him most. Certain injuries just linger all year and are difficult to heal until the offseason. Something tells me that if Free or Smith went down, Green would suddenly be available. I think they are doing all they can to get him well enough for that job moreso than currently game day backup.

Regardless, I still think he is clearly the RT of the future...Collins is a guard, not a T and not equipped to play out there.

Another thought....should we go after Marcellus Bennett as an all-around TE this offseason when his contract is up.

Pro---faster, stronger, and much better than Witten who is at the end. Excellent receiver and great blocker.

Con---we'd have to outbid NE who definitely want him back

Then you're not watching games correctly.

Collins to RT sounds great, sure. If player personnel and coaching thought that was good idea we know Jerry wouldn't be able to contain himself. It's hard not to trust the organization when it comes to OL decisions. Pretty good track record there recently.

I believe Free has one more year left on his deal, let him play it out and draft someone (3-4 round range) who can compete with Chaz. It's ashamed the kid can't stay healthy, looks like he can play in this league.

It wouldn't shock me if Free came back for a final season.

That being said, he hasn't had a good season.

Don't see that happening, I believe it didn't end well the first time he left Dallas if I recall.

There's going to be a lot of good size WR's in the 3-4 range if WR isn't BPA in round 2. I'd definitely take a developmental guy later with some physical ability since we're kinda weak at WR.

Agreed.

There are almost always going to be lots of WR options on days two and three in the draft. Dallas has also proven adept at finding keepers at the position from their undrafted free agent signings.

The Cowboys already have Andy Jones on the Practice Squad, he might take a big step forward next year.

Add a modest veteran free agent to the mix and then see what comes up during the draft.

It bothers me that so many want Church back. He's already athletically challenged and he's getting older. What's going on here?

SS will be a hole that needs to be filled this off-season. Barry Church and J.J. Wilcox are both set for unrestricted free agency.

Church, who will turn 29 in February, is viewed as the glue and leader of the defensive secondary.

Wilcox, who will turn 26 in February, is our most physical defender, but still has lapses with proper angles.

Jeff Heath will return, but he's here to play special teams, not safety. Rookie Kavon Frazier has barely played so far this season, so he can't be counted on to step up next year.

I'm fine looking to upgrade during the draft, but expect something to be done beforehand in order to keep options open.

That leads to re-signing Church or Wilcox.

I won't be surprised, either.

It may come down to if Dallas really wants Chaz Green to take over RT next year and if Free is willing to take a pay cut to stay and compete for the job.

Free's lucky Green has been dealing with injuries. Some in the media were speculating we might see a timeshare at RT again this season like in late 2012 when Jermey Parnell finally got some snaps and Free's lackluster play immediately improved.

I'd say it remains to be seen whether or not Claiborne gets a big $$ offer from another team in 2017. While his play this year initially was surely exemplary, his lack of long-term durability came back to bite him in the rump once again. Perhaps some team, desperate for help in the secondary might choose to ignore his less than desirable history of injuries but I definitely wouldn't bet the farm on it. A player can't assure any team of reliable help if he can't remain on the field for an entire season. Claiborne's worthiness of a generous contract is fairly questionable, imo.

As long as we're on the subject of durability issues, Chaz Green is another that doesn't seem to offer the type of dependability that better durability might afford us. I believe this team would do well to seek Free's potential replacement this offseason rather than attempt to rely upon Green to replace him at RT. Green would likely be well-suited to be a career backup at best. RT is much too important of a post to assign it to one who hasn't demonstrated durability in his entire college and professional career to date.
