He's not terrible - he's better than Dak in almost every measure...Comp %, Yards, Y/A, TD, TD:INT. He didn't have a great start to the season, but has been excellent of late. Hasn't thrown an INT since Week 5, 12 TDs and 0 INTs in his last 8 games.

Idk why he wasn't on the same page with Cooper. That doesn't mean he's terrible.
Carr is 19 TDs to 11 ints....on a pass 1st team hardly stellar numbers ..Dak has less ints and more TDs on a run 1st team
Carr has 226more yards lol but less TDs & more turnovers lol....he sucks

The NFL is QB deficient, there's a reason any and all QB's are on the free agent market. Would some of them be an upgrade, maybe. I also think that Tom Brady in this offense would be average at best.

Granted, the Cowboys organization loves Dak for some reason, so this discussion might be all-for-naught. But contrary to what the "we can't get anyone better than Dak right now" crowd says, there might be a few options, if the Cowboys wanted to explore them.

Here's a list of potential free agent QBs this offseason:

> Teddy Bridgewater -- catastrophic injury is completely behind him now, and he's only 26. Showed flashes in the 2018 preseason. There will probably be a big market for him.

> Nick Foles -- Slated to make $20 million next year, so the Eagles will have to let him go.

> Joe Flacco -- Looks pretty evident that the Ravens are ready to hand the reigns to Jackson. Doubt they'll keep Flacco as their backup

> Jameis Winston -- Pretty much a headcase, but he's 25 and would come relatively cheap.

> Derek Carr -- was playing at an MVP level 2 years ago before getting hurt. Gruden is cleaning house, so may Carr may be purged also.

> Ryan Tannehill -- He'll probably be retained by the Dolphins since they Osweiler is their only other legit QB with experience. But Tannehill has proven he can't lead the Dolphins anywhere, so they may cut bait.

> Josh McCown -- old but reliable. Would he be a good stop gap?

> Brock Osweiler -- has played better with the Dolphins than he did with the Texans or Browns. And he's still only 28.

> Tyrod Taylor -- he's a good leader and has had moderate levels of success. And he's only 29.

> Ryan Fitzpatrick -- Fitzmagic in Big D for a year or two?

Who would you be intrigued by? I'd take 4-5 of these guys over Dak right now.
depends on cost. I am intrigued by 2 or 3, which I think are above Dak as passers and can have success. I seriously doubt we will do anything in the off season with Dak. Jones is honed in and sold on him, just like he was sold on Garret. it will take another contract and coaching changes and similar results before he spins his way out of it. I think we are stuck at mediocrity with Dak for the next 4 years.

Dak will never be Brady or Rodgers...but he could be Big Ben ...Dak has better stats that Ben thru 3 years not even close....Yes Ben won a SB but threw 3 int 1 TD in that SB...Steelers won by Defense & Bettis running...same strategy Dallas is taking However Dak has better intangibles...Dak also has NO OLINE
LT-TYRON-Broken down neck& back
LG-rookie and than backup now has eye injury
C- rare disease backup Looney
RG- MCL sprain out
RT- Playing out of position LG
No TE
WR- only had Cooper for 7 games..Beasley playing hurt foot
Offensive HC & Coord....are Vanilla 90s clap happy
Dak sure he holds the ball too long and fumbles..
Dak was at his best when he had Romo..a vet QB to talk him through situations and what to expect..we now have a rookie and 2nd year QB
Dak gets little to no help ...
Dak has MORE wins than any QB in NFL since he came into the league except for Brady
Also 14 4th Q comebacks 2nd most
104 QBR in 4th Q or OT ..2nd highest in NFL

I'd let Dak play out his 4th year ..giving us another year..and more time to get better...than you can sign or Franchise him ...giving us cheap time to sign or draft someone with No long term effects

Wasted thread...

Because no matter if you like or dislike Prescott, they will not bring in a high-priced QB to provide competion.

Simply will not happen.

Quite honestly I don't view most of the FA QB's as upgrades... But that's beside the point.

What probably will happen is that Dak will be working with a new OC... That is realistic.

Bingo...

Just to get thise out of the way, Bridgwater has actually already signed an extension with the Saints. The Saints might choose to cut him, but as of this moment Bridgewater is not a free agent to be.

I'd bring in Flacco or Foles. I like the fact that they both throw really good if not great deep balls , both have rings, and both have played good or great in the playoffs. Flacco has beaten Brady in the playoffs.

I’d consider Flacco or Eli on a one year deal.
I wouldn't touch Eli without a hazmat suit. No thanks. He's the Forrest Gump of the nfl. He only went in the first round because of his name. He makes rookie mistakes. He's not smart. HIs pass rush carried him to both superbowls. No thanks.

Lets see what we have in Rush and White.
Rush looked terrible in pre season ....we NEED a vet to help these young QBs ....makes 0 sense to have 3 young QBs....Every NFL team has a Vet to help the young QBs except Dallas....Dak was his best when he had Romo helping him & what to look for in situational football ...

Some of you are forgetting how stubborn Jerry is.

He won't admit he's wrong (not that I agree he is). Dak is the guy next year whether you want to accept it or not.

My hope is that he gives Dak real coaching in 2019 and he either proves himself or we let his contract run out and go find our guy in 2020. Dak has some serious flaws but the deficiencies in coaching are the biggest issue IMO.

Carr would be the only one worth any interest. Would have to run it by Amari though and see if there's any issues there

4-5?

4-5?

Really? Where? Who?

Give Dak another shot with an actual OC and a REAL QB coach.

But, in all that is Hail Mary.. NOT ONE of those QB's will upgrade the position or help this team? Taylor? Carter #2? Bahahahhahaahahahahaha

They should have not forced Romo into retirement and let him and Dak compete. Yet another huge mistake by this team.
Biggest mistake in franchise history IMO.

(Nods at Jimmy J but that was a two way street)

Dak's best chance was to watch Romo for a couple seasons and if Romo did go down Dak goes in and we're in the same position anyway.

Need to draft one, not tie up big money in that list.

In regards to your question on upgrade:
Carr and possibly Teddy would be the only upgrades, but both come with too big of ??? to put that much money into.

The other thing is this teams window is open now. Get some o- line help and maybe a playmaker at TE, although this group is adequate and will improve.

It will be tough to keep this defense together when the bill comes due.

Exactly this.

The team did him no favors with the Kellen Moore experiment. In reality, they didn't do Kellen Moore any favors either. He will be judged for his time here even though he was not really ready for it. Kellen may be a great coach one day but he needs to earn it.

Sorry man, what over the past 25 years makes you think that the Cowboys will make the right decision?
JG has been worthless for the past 8 years. Process over results. I feel as though our process is bad. Every 4 years or so we win a few games get to the playoffs but unfortunately the result is very poor. Get the right coaches in place and fix our system so success isnt tied to Cooper or Zeke beating someone to win the game.
