If you would take the time to read, I stated literally in the first sentence that replacing Dak was probably unrealistic. But good try.
so why type the rest and hit send? like I said it was wasted thread, fantasy world if you think they will replace Dak within the next 2 seasons.. after that the full picture will be in on him..

change title to Backup dak vs replace.. maybe quality backup pushes Dak or gets him benched here and there..

I would, without a moments hesitation, take a flyer on Winston. I know he has warts, but he is 10x’s the passer that Dak is. I think he would thrive in the system- on this team. His situation in Tampa has been awful (some of his own doing) and he has still shown some real flashes. Plus I think he would come relatively cheap after this season. Just my opinion.

Granted, the Cowboys organization loves Dak for some reason, so this discussion might be all-for-naught. But contrary to what the "we can't get anyone better than Dak right now" crowd says, there might be a few options, if the Cowboys wanted to explore them.

Here's a list of potential free agent QBs this offseason:

> Teddy Bridgewater -- catastrophic injury is completely behind him now, and he's only 26. Showed flashes in the 2018 preseason. There will probably be a big market for him.

> Nick Foles -- Slated to make $20 million next year, so the Eagles will have to let him go.

> Joe Flacco -- Looks pretty evident that the Ravens are ready to hand the reigns to Jackson. Doubt they'll keep Flacco as their backup

> Jameis Winston -- Pretty much a headcase, but he's 25 and would come relatively cheap.

> Derek Carr -- was playing at an MVP level 2 years ago before getting hurt. Gruden is cleaning house, so may Carr may be purged also.

> Ryan Tannehill -- He'll probably be retained by the Dolphins since they Osweiler is their only other legit QB with experience. But Tannehill has proven he can't lead the Dolphins anywhere, so they may cut bait.

> Josh McCown -- old but reliable. Would he be a good stop gap?

> Brock Osweiler -- has played better with the Dolphins than he did with the Texans or Browns. And he's still only 28.

> Tyrod Taylor -- he's a good leader and has had moderate levels of success. And he's only 29.

> Ryan Fitzpatrick -- Fitzmagic in Big D for a year or two?

Who would you be intrigued by? I'd take 4-5 of these guys over Dak right now.

That list is horrid even with Foles on there. Id rather take my chances in the draft with heavy extensive homework done on QB's in the later rounds.

I'll take any of the first 4 as long as we get rid of Garrett

Not even entertaining the thought, why post about something that is not going to happen?

The net result is "0"...zippy, none of these would result in an upgrade. Maybe Foles and Flacco could get same results but as MichaelWin mentioned there is no way they are paying for a FA QB. Besides do you really think Jerry would give up on someone who has delivered what will be 3 winning seasons and 2 playoff appearances? In 3 years?

We'd get Fitzmagic for c.3.5m a year. Worth a punt. Let him challenge Dak in 2019 and mentor a 2020 1st round pick.

This will annoy some people, but when does Dak become a progress stopper?

no one wants either of those guys, if he were here and made one bad pass you'd be trying to get rid of him. Any new addition would be dumb at this point, who wants to go another full season trying to work in a new QB?

Dak will never get it done he’s just a better Romo.

We need a true blue chip talent like Deshaun Watson. Jerry should trade Dak for a first and draft Dwayne haskins

To be clear, I am not saying I am a fan of his. I’m simply saying I would take a chance on his talent because I think he would flourish in Dallas.

:lmao2:Fans, media coaches and even some players, practically begged him to prove he could keep the starting job twice this season. Once during Winston suspension and after Winston was benched for poor play. He could not .....there's no Fitzmagic with this guy.

CBZ: We have to get rid of Dak, he has only had the equivalent of two good seasons out of his first three.

Also CBZ: We have to get Nick Foles, who had one good season out of of his first five.

Makes sense. Dak plays well when his OL is healthy and it will be next season, no reason to wait on the problem to fix itself.

So basically a bunch of guys Dak’s caliber or worse who have never performed in a outdated offense like this one. Great.

I’m convinced that most of these guys either don’t like Dak or trolling to rile up up posters.
