Yep that defense could only score 7 pts the 1st 3 Q of the game!!!!
Then they choked when they had to chance in the 4th when Jimmy G put us back in the game!!!

The offense didn’t choke , Refs cheated them out of the final possession.

BTW didn’t Green Bay only score 10 pts vs them when they had the better, QB, running game, & defense?

I'm glad we had the number one offense. I'd much better this than something saying we're at the bottom. But there needs to be some perspective added to this. We trounced a soft NFCE, beat up on the Eagles practice squad. And after a high octane start, coasted to the finish line on fumes, in part, because we were seemingly exposed in Denver and alarmingly never regained our balance. Zeke played hurt, and Gallup was mia for the season, but other than that we got extremely lucky with the lack of injures.

We're going to score some points for sure, and that's the ideal starting place for 2022... but man there are a LOT of questions?

Can Moore and Dak make necessary adjustments this year? If Zeke in for more trending downward (history says yes)? How will we look without Amari? We really don't know yet. Before Amari it.. was a cluster. Can our less talented receiving core take a step up with the newfound pressure? Have the past been flukes? or is this team going to get small again in the big games? Will this very changed OL gel?

There are too many what ifs, in my opinion. I honestly don't know how this offense is going to produce. I could see us as easily as a top 5 offense if things go our way. But I could easily see a 10-15 offense. It will be fascinating to watch it upfold.

And a final thought: personally for me, they are going have you show that they can step up and win a must win game against wining or superior opponent. Because we haven't really seen it yet.

They were number 1 7 weeks through 2020 (before Dak went down) and number 2 in 2019. What is the reason for all of those seasons? At some point the excuses run out and you have to admit that it is a very good offense.

I guess it depends on how you define a really good offense. To me a really good offense is hard to stop no matter who you're playing, not a seasonal average or pile of stats. We had really good offenses in 2007 and 2014. You can even say 2016. They didn't pile up a ton of yards, but that team was hard to stop.

In 2019 I think they average just over 27 points per game and went 8-8. Had they actually scored 27 points per game they would have been 12-4. Same average, totally different record. The Cowboys really good offense is on paper only.

What has being the stats champion brought to Dallas? 20 years from now people will remember that Matthew Stafford and the Rams won super bowl 56. No one will remember who had the #1 offense that season because it's a meaningless garbage stat. Did Jameis Winston and Tampa Bay win anything by him being the #1 overall QB in 2019?

Dak had a lot to do with all the negative stuff and the positive stuff he did was against nst lesser teams.

Similar to Brady (GOAT) in 2020 Super Bowl run. He destroyed the Bucs horrible division and the weak teams on their schedule at the end of the year. Nobody wants to admit but Brady won the Super Bowl because of their defense. Brady was horrible in the playoffs.

I don't even know what this thread is about. The Cowboys were not the best offense in the league. Not even close. Not every team got to play multiple times against teams that played backups. Dallas racked up a ton of yards and around 100 points on those throw away games. Completely useless stats.

Tampa Bay says hi. The NFC East was better then the NFC South last season.

Dak is similar but he doesn't make those big 3rd down conversions and is inconsistent. He fools people by throwing for 500 yards against the WFT where Jimmy G will just win games with 225 yds passing.

Jimmy G is legit. There is a reason why Belichick wanted him to replace Brady. His issues lately is he can’t stay healthy. I would be scared to death if Jimmy G ended up in the NFC East over Hurts, Jones, and Wince. The Cowboys injured his shoulder by the way.

That was not true in any of those years. It is not even true of the "best" offenses last year. If that is your definition the NFL has had maybe 2 good offenses total in 10 years. Otherwise you are going to have offenses that struggle. The Chiefs beat the Packers 13-7, Cowboys 19-9, Broncos 22-7 while also losing several games where they scored under 30 as well. They were still a great offense.

Every team has bad matchups. I could do the exact same thing I did for the Chiefs for the Packers and they were also a great offense. Good weeks and bad weeks happen for offenses in the NFL but the best offenses have more good weeks then bad. The NFL is a game of matchups and inches and sometimes they just do not play in your favor so you are not going to matchup well against everyone.

We should have beaten if it wasn’t for some of the b.s. holding calls. If the OL improves overall then this team is going to wreck havoc in the league this season.

In those 11 games they scored 29, 20,36, 35, 20,16, 43, 9 (oof), 33, 27, 22, which overall is still very good (I would do the other offenses taking out their divisional games but that would take too long and it still has them at 6 I believe so my point is still sound). I guess you could in theory keep removing teams but at that point you are simply trying to find bad games and saying that defines the offense which you said in your opening sentence does not define an offense.

If it is predictability you have that with other teams as well. You know the Buccs are going to struggle against the Saints. You know the Packers are going to struggle against the NFC West. Going back further you knew Brady's offenses would struggle against any team with a strong front 4 and you knew Peyton Manning offenses would struggle against teams with great corner play (which is why the Patriots always made sure to have great corner play). The Cowboys had a similar weakness to those Patriots teams and you saw it in the playoffs, but having a weakness does not make you bad, because every team has a weakness, the problem is that they could not scheme around it.

Edit: just to point out from a defense perspective I am pretty sure the NFC East was not even the worst of the divisions. For sure the NFC North and AFC South were worse and while Denver was a solid defense KC got to beat up on Chargers and Raiders awful defenses.

Yeah Shanahan might be cursed. He should have a Super Bowl with Atlanta and two Super Bowls with the 49ers. As a Cowboys fan I would have loved to have been in the 49ers position the last 3 years but talking heads would have been killing us if we lost the Super Bowl like they did against the Chiefs and the dropped interception against the Rams.
