Why is it so hard for people to give credit where credit is due?
Garrett isn't the savior of the Cowboy universe, nor is he the best coach in the NFL. But he is a big part of the current success of this years team. To think its solely because of the coordinators is simply myopic.
He has had a plan since day one and for the most part has stuck with that plan. Yeah. He's struggled at times. But which first time head coaches haven't?
And to think he's not been a major force in the re building of this offensive line is foolish. It's OK to admit that Garrett is actually doing a pretty good job. No one will think less of you for doing so. And it doesn't mean you're drinking the koolaid. You're just seeing the obvious.

yes, after 3 seasons of 8-8 and doing it his way we really had no use for Linehan, I really cant see a difference Linehan is making to this offense. We are still abandoning the run, thats non existence at this point. The wins are just not showing up. and really Garrett himself turned the D around. He really got on Monte Kiffen (is his name even used anymore) and really Garrett is the sole reason this team is wher, OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wait thats before the changes that uses this running game, has put the D on a better path, and really put teh Cowboys back on national stage in vegas. (for the Parcells fans)

Yes, after seeing Garrett in charge and now we are seeing what the fans have been screaming and what a running game can do. Yes, if i had no brain cells left, i would so give Garrett the credit. Sad for JJ and JG, i do have a brain cell, and frankly if this hasnt shown every possible reason to let Garrett go now, i dont know what else will. Wining cures all, and its going to lift JG up, but lets not completely forget the dread Garrett left in our mouths because OTHER people are doing waht he was told to do for 3 years, than we have to get those people to do what he should have been doing. This is like explaining to Phillips and i did enjoy him as teh HC, Brain Stewart is no DC, None, comepletely totally, no defensive coordinator. I wouldnt keep JG on as water boy at this point. This is a big crossroads for Dallas, you are getting ready to turn the franchise over. Why not get a guy you believe in to be here for the ground floor of the next gen cowboys? I would really start thinking that today.

yap, your making plenty sense now. your who we need making decision no doubt about it

You really think Garrett drafted the OL.......RRRReally...Guess it was Garrett that told Jerry not to draft Manziel......come on man...maybe he hired Lineman......but had nothing to do with Marinelli....or the OL....guess he was responsible for changing the defense to 4-3 to.....putting a man on the moon and the Hershel Walker trade to........ wow...

Who spiked the Garrett Koolaid... making fans peg the BS meter ......uhm...

who cares ? we are winning and Garrett is a big part of that fact

I really don't care if he's number one or thirty two. It's one good season (so far) and all this is, is a way for guys to toot their JG horn.
Finish this season strong and start to string good seasons together, that's what good coaches do. There's been a mediocre run so far under JG.
Lets see where it goes.

or that Jimmy Johnson didn't have co coordinators [who they love]

Jimmy turned that mess he inherited around a ton quicker than Garrett has. He grabbed the right staff Immediately. He didn't try it "his way"
first than change only after he failed for several years.

Jimmy had great fortune fall in his lap and he was a great head coach with good coordinators

Love the revisionist history from the Red homers.

The blind kool aid drunk Red homers act as if Jimmy had an easy road compared to Garrett. Jimmy inherited a 3-13 team and then had to start a rookie QB on a team that lacked talent. But poor Garrett, well, he inherited a team with a pro bowl QB, a TE headed to the HOF and one of the premier sack leaders in the NFL. And to top it off he had been the OC for the offense for several years prior so it was just a continuation of his established offense. But somehow he has fought his way thru 3 1/2 years of struggling with a massive rebuilding job to get to this point.

Its just so great that we have a better coach than Jimmy and the next Tom Landry in Red.

What gives me most comfort is Garrett is here to stay. A contract extension is coming this off season
and the process will continue.

I am glad you don't exaggerate much. I dont think I didn't say Jimmy wasn't a great coach but he did have great fortune with the Walker trade.
Such great fortune as to be known to this day as "The Great Trade Robbery". Some of the talent that was instrumental in Jimmy's over viewing
that great turn around to three Cowboy championships/ Red also inherited a shot Offensive line and a defensive line that soon was to be torn down.
To dismiss Garretts rebuilding project is drinking the hemlock. Jimmy did it Red hasn't. Jimmy was ready to be a head coach Red wasn't but has put into place
a winning foundation. All this doesn't matter really Red will be our head coach for the foreseeable future and I'm glad for it.
