Meet Dan Quinn's project to replace Jayron Kearse.

He's more of the replacement for Keanu Neal/Anthony Barr/Jabril Cox IMO. We need that coverage linebacker when we are in the nickel. However, it does make me wonder what Damone Clark's role is since I thought he was taking over that spot.

Several had the tight end rated in the 70s. We took him at 58. Mazi was rated in 30s. We took him at 26. Overshown was rated right about where we took him and some had him in the 80s.

Well … it’s a need at least. We’re a bit light at off ball linebacker.

We usually only play two linebackers extensively. This was a waste of draft resources and I don’t even have to get into the flaws of the player.

IMO the TE pick says a lot about how they feel about Ferguson. Supposedly he’s a better blocker and certainly is more athletic. Wouln’t shock me in the least if he’s the starting TE week1.

Definitely has the athletic traits to be an upgrade. I don't really care which one of them wins out. We just need to find a starting TE that was at least as good as Schultz and hopefully better. We've got three shots now of finding that player with Schoonmaker, Ferguson and Hendershot. If we find more than one, that's even better.

I don’t know much about him, but looking at the highlights, I’m a little surprised he wasn’t talked up much more by Longhorn fans around here, and why another team didn’t take a shot at his obvious high upside before pick 90.

I wanted an OL but I don’t see how any Cowboys fan isn’t pumped to have this guy and what he may grow into.

Quinn will dial up some blitz packages for him in nickel, and he will blow up some dudes on ST while he eases into the defense.

That side of the ball looks pretty damn good right now.

You don’t draft a stuffer (first round) for a role player, especially when that is your weakest link on the D. You start him and Hankins and that should free your LB to make plays.

Then that is a very poor strategy.

How does Overshown help when he is barely on the field?
