5 Guys Hamburgers and Fries

Fuddruckers is the only decent place i've seen listed here and I wouldn't go there a second time either.

All the more reason to love In & Out

yea, instead you just sit in a long line for an hour. : ) at least when they first open. when it finally calmed down, they reminded me a lot of wendys.

and i hate wendys.

Five Guys in Austin is really good...

If I'm near downtown, though... I'm going to Hopdoddy's, Hut's, Phil's Ice House or Casino El Camino...

The burgers are OK, but for the price, I agree there are much better burgers available. The fries are better if you request the Cajun seasoning. I don't know where everyone is located, but there is a restaurant chain growing in the southeast called Cookout. Best. Burgers. Ever. It's like having 4th of July, fresh off the grill burgers everyday. And very affordable.

The things is IF a place wanted to charge SOO much for a burger they could upgrade their BEEF.

They would OWN the area. But they dont.

Blame the people that pay for the high priced/low quailty crap :laugh2:

If anyone ever makes it to NY (Long Island)....All American Burger...best on the planet...been in the same location since the late 50's...

not sure - i want to say around belt line and josey or just east of that.

I know there is a place on East Beltline called Burger Island. I wanna say that's west of Josey. Heck, it's been a long time.

Overworked and underpaid. :D

Why do you find the need to pattern your life after mine? Trust me when I tell you, you can do better.

:laugh2:

I endorse them as the best burger in town. And we've got some good burger joints. I'm sorry for your bad experience. :(

You misread it ABQ... she said "Overworked and underpaid" not "Underworked and overpaid"...

i finally went trendy today and gave them a shot.

the burger was under-seasoned, the grilled onions were tasteless, the bun soggy and they were about the worst fries i've ever had in my life. to think $3 for a "small" order was about 1lb of soggy-fries that tasted like what you think wall paste would taste like.

and it was just under $12.

first and last trip, all at once.

You may have had a bad experiance or their hamburgers aren't your style, but they're my favorite hamburger joint. Whenever I make a 5 Guys lunch run the majority of my office jumps at the chance to get lunch there. Luckily I can order online as the line is out the door during lunch time.

You're probably right about the fries. I don't generally eat fries from anywhere because I'm not a big fan of potatoes of any kind, so I can't say if they're good or not.

Five Guys in the Cleveland area are good but not great imo. Places like Red Robin, Max N Erma's, and Outback Steakhouse have really good burgers.
