Being from Virginia, I've gone to a lot of 5 Guys over the years... not one of my favorite places. As stated, the fries are a greasy mess. Every time I eat them, I feel terrible afterwards.

I find the hamburgers ok, but a little too greasy for my taste.

At Washington Dulles Airport, the 5 Guys there serves breakfast sandwiches, and I have to say those are pretty darn tasty.

Just as an FYI, Mark Mosely is involved with the franchise, so as a rule I don't like supporting anything having to do with the Redsk*ns.

I like the burgers. They can keep the fries. They are all over DC though.

I will never step foot in a Red Robin again. Those and Cook-out burgers are among the worst I have ever had. The absolute worst is the burgers that my Aunt makes, I will eat everything but the burgers when we go over there.

Had an amazing burger in Vegas though. I will get that everytime I go and ignore the price. It was worth it.

I never tried Red Robin when I was there in DC. Always seen the commercials but never got around to them.

I like their cajun fries. Burgers seem fine to me. It's inexpensive, so if I need a burger and it's close by, why not?

I like 5 guys but their fries aren't all that unless they are Cajun. We have one about 15 minutes away in Colonial Heights right by Wal-Mart (Ugh).

For anyone in Houston, go to District 7 and get the kobe beef burger (I get without onions, because I'm not a fan of onions). The burger and fries are fantastic.

yea, fudruckers and other "burger" places just lose me. we finally got an in-and-out burger place in dallas and i hate it. i never understood the hype there as well but at least it wasn't outlandish in $.

there's a place in carrollton that a friend used to go to on his way over here to pick up some "mexican" burgers that were fantastic. yea, it was a "hole in the wall" to be sure but they had some of the best burgers around. i think it was off belt-line but i can't be sure.

I've been trying different burgers all over Dallas for the last year or so including the one that won best burger in Texas from Texas Monthly Magazine (The Grape restaurant) and none of them can hold a candle to the $8.95 cheeseburger at Lakewoods 1st & 10, IMHO.

It's just a simple burger with a really fat patty (3/4"?) plus mustard, onions, tomato and lettuce on a plain bun.

Give it a shot sometime if you're ever in the area, I get it with cottage fries (extra crispy) and a side of ranch. It comes with the fries, so apparently it's cheaper than the fast food joints.

Tasty Vittles!

Meh to Five Guys.

Their burgers are good.. but there is nothing "special" about them. They are just your average good burger. The problem with this is they are not as big or as good as your average restaurant chain burgers, but they are just as expensive if not more so. Just really really really over priced is how I feel every time I leave Five Guys.

I Did make the mistake of ordering a Large Fry one time I went though, and holy cow is that a lot of fries, just a ridiculous amount of potato.

Their fries are good and they have vinegar for them and they give you an obscene amount. This is all 5 guys has going for them imo.

Drop 2$ off their burgers and maybe I go to the place more often, 'cause as it Stands Steak n Shake (also over priced) has better burgers for cheaper, and they do happy hour on their milk shakes!

I'm with iceberg. I went to one because I kept hearing good things.

Expensive and not all that good. I would have rather gone to a Wendy's or Jack in the Box.

The last time Mrs. BDC and I went to 5 guys, we turned around, walked across the parking lot and ate for half the price at Wendy's.

I think a lot of people's perception of 5 Guys is the expectation of how good it is. They keep hearing about how good it is and I guess they're looking to have the best hamburger ever. Reality rarely meets expectations. I remember the first time I ever had an In-n-Out hamburger. I thought it sucked, but then again all I kept hearing about was how awesome it was. After I went a couple of times I realized their burgers were decent but not much better than everybody else's. I happened to go into a 5 Guys not knowing about their burger and I liked them and I still do.

It's the same thing about Morton's steakhouse (and other high dollar steak places). They're good steaks, but not $50 steaks, at least not IMO. I can cook a steak as good as they can for a lot less money, which makes it taste even better in my book.

Everyone that says they like Wendy's must have some crazy good Wendy's where they are because any time I've eaten at one around here they have completely sucked.
