Everyone that says they like Wendy's must have some crazy good Wendy's where they are because any time I've eaten at one around here they have completely sucked.

I used to hate Wendy's until recently. At least around here both their burgers and fries improved tremendously. Just my opinion of course.

If you guys want good fries pretty much anywhere just order them without salt and they come out hot and fresh every time. You can salt them after, but I think fries taste great without them. Now, I'm hungry and want fries and not on my Weight Watchers menu. :(

OK -- I shouldn't say every time. I'm sure some places may or may not have fries sitting on the side without salt, but I've never had that happen. Nothing worse then cold, limpy fries.

Have you tried Twisted Root?

Yes sir, it's pretty good but the patty is about 1/3 the size of 1st and 10's and not nearly a good, IMO. Adairs has a much better hamburger and is within walking distance of the Deep Ellum Twisted Root, toss up as to whether Adairs or 1st and 10's has the better burger.

If anyone is ever in Vegas, go to Caesars Palace to a restaurant called Bradley Ogden, they have a great burger they only serve at the bar, it's fantastic. They grind their own meat on site and it's a mixture of ground cowboy cut ribeye with Kobe beef trimmings served with shoestring fries, awesome!

haha. These guys want burger for under 5 bucks and as good as the burger you had.

I paid 4 bucks to add bacon to the burger I had in Vegas in October. That is expensive to some folks. Burger with fries was 19 bucks. Well worth the money. I will be back, and I go to Vegas a few times a year.

Even after they did the most recent campaign of changes, I couldn't see any difference. But again, like anyplace, it could just be the places in our area that suck.

Are you saying you had the burger at Bradley Ogden?

On a burger sidenote, anybody ever have Fatburger? *They have turkey burgers* I go there whenever I go to Chicago and get a turkey burger with skinny fries.

I first tried it in Jersey City and really enjoyed it.

For anyone in Houston, go to District 7 and get the kobe beef burger (I get without onions, because I'm not a fan of onions). The burger and fries are fantastic.

I've been there and it is dang good. I agree with you 100% on that endorsement.

Sorry but there is no such thing as a burger and fries that are worth 19 dollars and I don't care how good they were I wouldn't pay 19 dollars.

I could buy my own hamburger patties and grill my own up, that were far better, and make a hell of a lot more of them for less than 19 dollars, so, no. Simply wouldn't pay 19 dollars for a burger and fries.

In my experience the absolute best places, and often the least expensive as well, to get burger and fries is always a local, hole in the wall, mom and pop type joint.

Anytime I've ever gone anywhere and found a place like this it's always kicked the pants off of whatever 'name' chain is around.

For example in the town I live in we used to have this place called The Grill. Still, to this day, the best burger and fries I've ever had in my life, anywhere. They were amazing.

Sadly the lady who owned it finally sold the place, cause she was very old and in bad health, and wound up dying shortly there after.

The place closed down pretty quickly after the new management took it over cause, frankly, they sucked.

I actually like 5 Guys burgers and cajun spice fries very much. A lot better than In and Out anyway.

My favorite burger place in Tucson though is a local haunt only. Lindy's on 4th Avenue. It was featured on a Man vs. Food episode, and after I saw it I had to try it, and it was great.

I would take In and Out over McDonalds. I just do not like them at all. My least favorite burger place.

Yes, they aren't bad, and the fries are all you can eat. Anyone over 350 pounds eats free. They are no longer in AZ though. I think it moved to Vegas.

Burger King for me. If I am forced to go there, I never order a burger. It's a chicken sandwich or hot ham and cheese.

I can't stand that place.

I haven't been able to stand BK since I got out of the Army. Every base has one and if you miss the chow hall hours you had no choice other than BK.
