NE has made a living out of using short passes as an extended running game. It can be done.

Hey if we go up 14-3 like it should've been then we wouldve pounded them.

Instead we played sloppy sloppy football and started passing.

With all that said... Randle was one of our best guys tonight.

Again it's not the number of rushes. The overall effectiveness wasn't there. Randle was a man in the passing game but he was just OK running it. As I said earlier he "left meat on the bone" on at least two runs where he got tripped up.

I don't think he's a tough enough runner to be a 17-20 carry guy.

Been saying this all along. Now we are in the thick of it and the results will begin to bolster my stance. We can only hope that they will activate Christine Michael and begin to work him in asap. We cannot revert to the high pass low run offense of yesteryear. While Romo is supernatural, it's unfair to assume that we can just ride his arm to 10 plus wins. We need balance. That's what got us to 12-4 last year and we need to rediscover it this week. Great win though.

They were more balanced and looked fine before being behind the 8 ball due to the WRs. If someone would have told you before the game the RBs would combine for 200+ yards from scrimmage you wouldn't have been saying this.

WTH are you talking about man. We had a very balanced offense. The 4th quarter called for us to pass the ball because we were behind. You act like the game plan was pass heavy throughout the game and that was not the case until we had to abandon the run and it worked.

Ill be honest. Im not sure what the stats look like. But it seemed like we saw Romo passing the ball early, and often. The run game wasnt even a factor.

1st and goal, ball on the 2. With this offensive line! The strength of the team. And we pass the ball.................... ?

It was 3.7 yds a carry (ignore Romo's -1). Also it was over 4 until DMAC had a a couple short yardage plays where he got the first down (but not big yardage).

In the first three quarters tonight, Randle and McFadden had 21 carries. Last year, Murray averaged 19 carries in the first three quarters, and Randle averaged 2.

We ran just as much in the first three quarters as we did last year. The difference tonight was being down by 10 and needing to pass instead of being able to run out the clock.

They were trying to save time. Running has a higher risk of killing clock.

The run game wasn't great but they were still running the ball. I agree with the 1st and goal at the 2 should have been a run.

Yes it is better.

The Eagles have a very good front 7. Especially Cox and Bennie Logan. Two of the best tackles in the game. The Giants have a weak defensive line.

Let's stop with the sugar coatings. The run game wasn't good enough tonight. Romo shouldn't have to throw it 45 times a game. It's not the receivers fault that we averaged 3.5 YPC.

Ok he averaged less than 3yds vs Indy, make you feel better? It's one game.

It's been my fear about life without Murray all along. I totally get you can't pay everyone, and I DO understand the decision not to overpay a injury-prone running back coming off a 400-carry season.

But even if the decision is sound on that basis, it doesn't diminish the fact last year's running back is no longer here. And last year's running back was damn good.

The line is great, and we saw the openings all night. But Murray is an upper-tier running back who could finish off runs like only upper-tier runners could. Sure, he doesn't have the second level some super-elite backs have, but he was phenomenal at breaking through tackles, using his arms to shield off defenders and wear down an opponent.

Tonight's runners don't do that. Michael? Maybe, but that's a pretty if at this point. I'm confident we can be a quality running team even without Murray, but nothing close to the level of what we saw last year.

I miss watching Murray run through arm tackles. Randle did his best and he wasn't terrible. He was better than Murray out of the backfield. He has something...but he may just be too light. He went down a little to easy. With Murray teams knew they had to bring more than an arm or solo tackle. His stiff arm and size was significant...

McFadden seems to explode. He may not be every down back type.

I think Michael is the player that fits our offense the best.

How many times did we pass in this game? I hate it.... I hate the offensive game plan.

Tony Romo is out there trying to make tackles!! Getting popped way to often....

I hate it!! This is not the team I want to see this year..

Man I hope that Christine kid can play. And we go back to running the ball.

Why did we play empty backfield so much not complaining about a win it just seemed like their was no rhythm.

I don't see Randle as a starter at all. He lacks that vision and I don't see a very fast first step. DMC had that pop in his first step and if he got more touches and got into a rythm we wouldn't have seen the 3 yard runs that Randle kept getting. It's not good enough

It's not the number of rushes that disappointed some people.

Weak example...it doesn't make me feel better since Randle averaged 2.8 YPC that same game.

Does it make you feel better?

How did Murray do agains the Giants last year?

Exactly. I'm intrigued by CM but Randle was STELLAR tonight outta the backfield, DMC flashed a little and Randle was decent. Don't think CM sees the field next week, but I hope I'm wrong.

Our goal line play calling on the first drive pretty much proved this staff has no faith in this run game. 3 passes inside the 5. Opponents did not even bite on the play fake. No one respects this run game.

NYG respected it enough to play with 8 and 9 in the box, at least until circumstances dictated that we throw the ball. Three turnovers eventually made running the ball a non-option.
