Well that's where I disagree I guess. I tend to think this team has consistently been close to being a serious contender. Some think the wheels are perpetually falling off. It has nothing to do with being a homer or unrealistic. Each of the last three years, Dallas has basically been a couple of plays away from being in the playoffs, and then who knows. The bottom-dwellers that people think the Cowboys are on the same tier as are nowhere near that point.The end result is the same: a team that annually has no shot at winning a SB.
And I don't buy the whole financial argument. The Jags didn't take Blaine Gabbert b/c they don't have money, same thing with the Browns and Weeden or the Skins signing Haynesworth. Most every team makes bad decisions, regardless of their financial resources.
