Funny you say this when we have saw Mahomes get beat without Kelce and Jones first game of the year and not look good doing it. Roger's GB didn't do anything last year, Herbert has won nothing, Hurts has literally all the help in the world...
Dak balled out WC card round last year 305 and 4 TDs, for example. In a lose or go home playoff game on the road. He took a bottom scoring offence to a top scoring offence when he retuned from injury.
He has flaws for sure, but the consent hyperbole that he somehow unique in what he needs to succeed is either intellectually lazy or intentionally incorrect.
It's Rodgers not Rogers. Before you insinuate that I'm Intellectually lazy at least learn how to spell first.
You refer to Mahomes underperforming in one game this season without Kelce and Jones - even then they win the game if Toney didn't drop regulation receptions at key moments including one easy catch on the final drive... it reminded me of Crayton hesitating on his route to beat the eventual Superbowl Champions yet people still blame Romo. Further, Mahomes is a 2 x MVP with two Superbowl wins and a loss in another over 5 seasons as a starter. He has been the main reason why the Chiefs have won a number of games including last season when they didn't have the best roster.
Rodgers has won MVP in two of the last three seasons yet you only refer to last season. He has been the main reason the Packers won multiple games every season. I remember a game a few years back when the Packers were big underdogs on the road against...the Cardinals from memory. The Pack had almost half of the starters missing, they weren't given a chance yet yep Rodgers helped them secure the W.
Herbert hasn't won anything of note, yet people overlook that he has largely played with a terrible offensive line, bad defense and awful head coach in the same division as a team that has played in three Superbowls ovet the past 5 seasons. Yet people compare Herbert to having the same tools around him as Prescott. Comical. Objective people who factor in the above appreciate that Herbert is an elite QB but he has faced mission impossible thus far. Peak Tom Brady wouldn't have been able to win a Superbowl on any of those rosters either. Herbert has carried the Chargers to wins including against the Vikings last weekend.
Hurts was the main reason the Eagles beat the Cardinals and Colts last season. He came up with a number of plays to get them over the hump when the team didn't play well. He was a big reason they also beat the Packers when the Defense gave up 33 points he helped the offense hang 40 points on them including 2 throwing TDs and rushing for over 150 yards. Those key wins gave the Eagles the #1 seed. He was also outstanding in the Superbowl helping the offense put up 35 points but the defense lost the game giving up the lead after half time.
You mention the Cowboys' play off win over Tampa Bay - one of the worst play off teams in recent memory as some sort of amazing moment for Dak Prescott. You do realise the Cowboys win that game with the practice squad QB Cooper Rush! Rush is also 5-1 as Dallas Cowboys starting QB over the past two seasons. Prescott feasted on a really bad team in Tampa Bay with the Cowboys' defense destroying the opposition. He wasn't the difference. Similarly in the play off win over Seattle, the Cowboys were by the superior team and in reality Wilson outplayed Prescott but as he played on an inferior team with Carroll not letting him cook, the Seahawks lost and people say Prescott beat Wilson. When did Prescott play against Wilson? Was it a tennid match? Hilarious.
Yes, the offensive line wasn't great against the Cardinals given the missing starters, but this is the type of o-line the likes of Burrow, Herbert and Allen generally play behind during their career not just one game! Moreover, look at the Cardinals vs the Giants the week before. Cardinals score 28 points and have big leads in both games against the Cowboys and the Giants. They rush for over 150 yards against the Giants and Dobbs throws for just shy of 230 yards...yet Daniel Jones managed to overcome adversity and pull out the W scoring 31 points in the 2nd half even with an offensive like that had been destroyed a week either side of this game.
The amount of energy people have defending Dak Prescott is embarrassing. He's a top 10 paid QB (due an extension
) in year 8 for goodness sake yet he still needs babysitting - McCarthy's play calling against the Cardinals confirmed the same.
