A big dose of reality

I'll take our roster over Atlantas. I'll take their coordinators over ours.

Also, we never saw Atlanta have to take that offense on the road in the playoffs. They are a great home team.

But they got a banged up and not very good Seattle team and they got a decimated Packers team at their house.

No disrespect to Atlanta but to act like they are some amazing team is ridiculous. They're very good but they could go right back to where they were pretty quick.
They scored 540 points this season, then baked Seattle and Green Bay for 80 more.

And their defense is made up of rookies and 2nd year guys.

I agree that they aren't some amazing team.
At least on defense. Though I do think they have a couple of young stars there.

Disagree.

Atlanta would be Dallas 19 out of 20 times. They would score at will.

Team Offense (DVOA)

Atlanta: 1st
Dallas: 3rd

Team Defense (DVOA)

Dallas: 17th
Atlanta: 27th

Given this backdrop you really think the Cowboys lose 19 of 20 games? Hyperbole much?

Dallas would have been a home favorite against the Falcons. Doesn't mean we win. Think it's ridiculous to think we lose 19 of 20.

How many points did Carolina score last year?

Atlanta's defense is terrible. I have no respect for it.

Their offense is really good and with a defense as bad as theirs they had to keep forcing the ball downfield and they delivered. They lost 5 times this year but they still got the 2 seed.

There was hyperbole there. But I don't think they'd punt unless somebody dropped a pass in wide open space.

If I was Atlanta, I'd add another pass rusher to go along w Beasley. Let's say a 10 sack guy to pair up with Beasleys 15 and sign Leary from us. This would be the moves I make besides the draft.

Offensively, they are a juggernaut. They are a tough tough team

Theywould score points to be sure. But it's important to remember that they're defense is appreciably worse than Greenbay's and they lack the ability to extend the pocket and play the way Rodgers and Greenbay can.

This is all moot but the thing that gave us the biggest problem with GB doesn't exist on that Falcons team. I think it would have been a better matchup for us. One can dream.

Or not a lot

We could beat ATL and NE without any miracles

So could any number of teams -- SEA, NYG, DET, KC, PITT, OAK (with Carr), maybe MIA. Most if not all of those teams would be underdogs, but it would take far less than a miracle for them to win. Just like Dallas.

If we add JSmith, Mo Claiborne, Taco Charlton and Eric Berry we are pretty tough

Not like Atlanta played anyone during the season either.

Both teams that lost were massively due to lose as they were what 4-6 at one point and hadn't lost yet.

Um, really? Atlanta played the AFC West. The NFC East played the AFC North. Big difference there.

As for your due to lose comment, there's the gambler's fallacy rearing its ugly (and incorrect) head again. Hope you don't spend much time in Vegas.

No argument there. We are a decent team as presently constructed. Anything we add, will only make us stronger. Now idk who Jsmith and taco are, gonna have to research them but Eric Berry is a bad dude

Edit: Jaylon smith. Yeah if he's healthy and lives up to his projections. Awesome player

Any given Sunday. Has no bearing on being "watered down" or not. Just wasn't this year for us. Let's move on!
