TwoDeep, I agree with much of your post. However, rather than purchasing a billboard, I think Cowboys fans should create signs that express our discontent with the current structure of the Cowboys front office -- namely, the GM -- and display them at games. This strategy would strike within Jerry's crowning acheivement: his new stadium.

I enjoy this forum immensely, but our ideas are not likely to gain much traction here. The pro-GM Jerry sentiment is quite pervasive and vociferous -- which is fine. It's simply the nature of this board.

Now, THAT'S a practical idea! I mentioned something similar in another thread earlier this year (e.g. bagheads), but proponents of the billboard scenario thought it wouldn't have the greater impact. The problem with that conclusion is that visibility via the media is minimized to practically zero with the billboard idea. Why the billboard movement thinks otherwise is... well... unusual, for lack of a better term.

If anything, Jerry even enjoys the negative publicity, so these stunts would do litte to no good. The best way to get at Jerry is through the wallet. I suggest a blackout protest. Stop buying jerseys, going to games, watching games on TV that generate advertising revenue or even visiting Cowboy forums until Jerry has stepped down.

In my opinion, the worldwide appeal of the Dallas Cowboys makes such options [strike]practically[/strike] worthless. If people truly wish to make an impact, they have to choose battles which can be won. Organizing blackouts, team apparel boycotts and getting enough of the public to turn off their televisions is akin to Custer surviving at Little Big Horn. It just ain't happening.

The best way to get to JJ is to stop buying Cowboy gear and stop buying tickets. The games are free on TV. Quit putting money in his wallet and he will make changes. When the Cowboys do bad I always let my family and friends know that I do not want anything with a Cowboy logo for birthday's and Christmas. I am sure everyone on this board has enough Cowboy gear to last awhile. Stop buying new stuff until JJ fixes the problem which is the GM.

I told my friends and family to stop buying me Cowboy gear after last year. Unless we have a LOT of success this year, I will not start again until they make significant changes. I did not mean game to game to stop buying stuff whether we win or lose. If we win the SB I will go on a Cowboy shopping spree. If we make it as far as the NFC championship game but lose then I may buy a little. If we go 1 and out in the playoffs or don't make postseason then I will not buy anything until a significant change is made. You have to get the man where it hurts and money is all he understands.

I was a Cowboy shop-a-holic until I had to endure Vinny and Bledsoe at QB. Watching these dinosaurs was hard to do, so I quit buying after 2005. I did not start buying again until Romo was inserted in the line up. I bought plenty in 07 and even last year until the Baltimore and Philly meltdowns. I have since stopped and will not start until we either win big or make changes.
