A Crazy, Crazy Idea About Zeke

The only way it would work is if the Cowboys refuse to play. I would love to see it happen as it would just destroy the NFL. But I'm sure there would be serious ramifications for Jerry if he did this. And if it involves money there is no way Jerry will allow it to happen

The only thing that would be destroyed would be the Cowboys. With a forfeit loss .

Thankfully, we know what would happen because it's in the rule book.

The Cowboys would simply be punished via draft picks/fines/cap reductions if he suited up but didn't play. The officials would not allow play to begin on any play where he entered the game, and ultimately the Cowboys would forfeit if they refused to remove him from the field.

First off, I know this will never happen. But I wonder what would happen IF:

-The Cowboys let Ezekiel Elliott into the stadium and suit him up for Sunday. Would the officials stop the game until he left the field? What type of punishment would the NFL hand down?

-Let's take this a step further. What if the Cowboys, as a team, refuse to play if Elliott cannot? They could really put the NFL in a bind- the Sunday afternoon late game is the CBS "anchor"- the real money maker.

I know this is crazy. I'm just really angry that Zeke, by the laws of this country in which we live, is a free man. However, the NFL is denying him the chance to do his job for six weeks because they think they are above law enforcement and have the legal system eating out of their hand.
This would be cool if it happened and I'm angry enough to hope it happens.

Good idea OP, I really wish we could do this as a team. Man that would make some noise. A cancelled game as a boycott over a shadey suspension. Nice.

here's my fantasy:

Tiffany Thompson comes forward and admits to lying about everything and as a result completely and utterly humiliates the NFL and Goodell in particular

if she played her cards right I'm sure she could get an even bigger payday from blackmailing Goodell than she would from Zeke
sometimes creative thinking is a beautiful thing

Here's my fantasy

The coaches put together amazing game plans on offense and defense and use the talent on this team to win 5 out of the 6 games that Zeke is gone

then a well-rested and pissed off Zeke comes back for the playoff run.

Blimey! A game forfeiture!
That's so crazy, that might just work!

How many draft picks would the league take away from Dallas if they ignored the Elliott suspension?
1st rounders in 2018, 2019, and 2020 would probably just be the start
then massive fines
Garrett suspended for a period of time (i wouldn't mind this actually)

He're mine:

Elliot serves out suspension. Cowboys makes playoffs, Zeke comes back and tears it up, Goodell has to hand Lombardi to Elliot who wins SB MVP.

Essentially what you are asking for is the team to strike?

Can they do that mid-season? Are there rules against that in the CBA or the competition committee? I'd bet there are, and they can't "strike". If they could it would probably count as a loss and a Chiefs victory which would have an impact on the NFCE race
Yes, all CBA’s have a no strike - no lockout clause for the life of a contract. I know this from personal experience.

Just throw him in Looney's jersey and say Looney is the starting RB.

And tell him to never remove his helmet on the sideline
