When you’re team’s offense scores 30 points but they lose anyway, your defense has failed and you. Dallas defense creates turnovers but also gives up TOOOO MUCH cheap yardage. Did I EVER see a Philly three-and-out yesterday?

Oh I completely agree that one of the main causes of post-season failures has been with the defenses. It was the same with Romo-led teams.

In the end though, great quarterbacks find ways to compensate for weaknesses in other areas of the team.

Dany White was a good quarterback. Tony Romo was a good quarterback. Dak Prescott is a good quarterback.

A good quarterback can win in the post-season with a great team, but a great quarterback can win without one.

I think Prescott has the potential to be a great quarterback in the post-season as he has shown glimpses of it in the regular season several times, but until he does, he's just a good quarterback with no real post-season success and NFL history is full of those types of quarterbacks.
not that many weaknesses sorry but this isint team full of HOF payers. and coaches..

show me that 9er game first NFCCG post Jimmy got down 21-0 lost by 10..why didn't that GREAT TEAM and Aikman, Smith, Irvin Overcome that? come on man no way you can have qb overcome 14 penalties 11 by his oL which put you behind the chains all game, took back big plays, constantly wrecking momentum. Kind of odd that Drew brees and Rogers only have one SB, crazy HUH they pay like 19 years and only one? its because many games we saw bad calls, no calls, oddball plays, injuries to key players and i could go on and on an don ..ya QB can not make up for that many issues .case in point say 2020 TB12 has terrible game 3 Ints in the NFCCG and guess what his TEAM bailed him out..daks never done that that i remember but at least when you are an truly great team like say Stafford/Rams also didnt play well in many of those games last year , SB he had some parts of that game where he struggled etc he had his D step up two series in a row to get him the ball back to make that push. when has Dak or Romos teams done that?

where was AC. pollard, that OL and all those Names like Parsons etc in those games? that 9er game what did they do something special help dak.. 53 players 22 starters too many moving parts Dak has not made the game choking pay in any payoff game i can remember, no one can say,

" man the team played great and the QB choked"..nope , quite the opposite but expectations are well i don't care how bad the team plays and coaches call a game, that QB should overcome that,

Rose colored glasses? The Reality is that some of us live with a positive mindset and some live with a negative mindset. I know which one is better.

The 49ers were pretty tough. Commanders had the Hogs.

I can only imagine you'd be wrong. Sometimes people just have different opinions than you. Anyway, it's a personal preference. You like Meredith, I like White.
It’s not just a personal preference. History would say Meredith was the greater QB without a championship.

That QB will count $50mil on the cap in 2023 and 2024....its tough to build a roster when you pay your QB $40-$50mil a year.....it was the same way under Tony Romo.....Cowboys could never build a roster because they paid the QB handsomely......Wait tell CD Lamb, Diggs and Parson need to get paid.....gonna be interesting.... do the Jones worry about putting butts in the seats or build a championship roster....

Dan Fouts comes to mind only made it to one conference championship game. And 3-4 playoff history.

Unfortunately this era fans want to only equate greatness to winning championships.

There are lots of QBs in the hall who have losing records in the playoffs. Jurgenson already mentioned, Fouts. Warren Moon is another one. This insistence that a player has to win a championship or be labeled a loser is asinine. There are other measures of greatness.

With the defensive play like y’day , we cant go deep in the playoffs, hopefully we will get back some injured players on time and Quinn will wake up and update the schemed enough to make a difference.

Yet shultz and zeke most likely gone, tyron possibly , money wil be there if and when needed , its not big deal you are exaggerating, caps go up and you have many ways to manipulate the cap when needed. be fan not a dang CPA/CFO dont give a flip about contracts and cap. we let them worry about iot. BV2B double digit win and playoff seasons, first time since 96..welp that ll that matters.

You can say a lot of things about Prescott, but one thing that is hard to ignore is his record against NFC East teams.

In his career, Prescott is 27-6 against the NFC East during the regular season including being 18-1 in his last 19 games against them.

Unfortunately, that means little in the playoffs because the Cowboys keep finding ways to disappoint everyone when the playoffs start.

The fact that his record has been that impressive against NFC East teams combined with hardly any playoff success is why some fans are not fans of Prescott.

I know it feels good feeling some sort of vindication against the Dak haters when the Cowboys and Prescott win games like the one today, but it is what we have come to expect during the regular season.

I want badly for the Cowboys to win a Super Bowl and it would be great to see Dak Prescott lead the team to winning one, but until he and the Cowboys break the the pattern of post-season failures nothing has changed.

Like most Cowboys fans, the negativity wears on me like it wears on everyone else, but so does the frustration of the same failures occurring year after year.

Maybe this year will be THE year or maybe it will be yet another great regular season that ends quickly in the post-season like we have endured for 27 years with a variety of quarterbacks including Romo and Prescott.

Dak is a great guy and the kind of guy you want to be your quarterback and lead your team.

What he is not yet is a real "winner". Winners win championships, not divisions or wildcards as those just the things that get you into the real games.

I would love for Prescott and the Cowboys to win a Super Bowl this season, but until that happens some fans are not going to be happy and it's hard to blame them .. especially when I am one of them.

Of course you’re right. Football is the ultimate team game. If an offense puts up 34, they’ve done their job no matter the outcome. The Jags game was a great example. It wasn’t the QBs fault that we lost that game. It’s football. Nobody wins them all except for the ‘72 Dolphins.

The whole SB or bust mentality is naive. It’s HARD to get to the SB and isn’t an indictment of a good team that doesn’t. Very good teams miss the SB every year. Yes, I’m disappointed that we haven’t sniffed a SB in 26 years. Thankfully, I’m old enough to have been a fan during every Cowboys SB appearance. That takes some of the sting away. It would be tough to be under 35 years old and to have never seen the Cowboys play for a title.

Dak is absolutely good enough to win a SB. There’s a long list of lesser QBs that have SB wins. Can our team get it done this year? We may not be the favorites, but we’re in the mix. That’s all we can ever ask for.

Sorry I cannot agree with this. There are many great players who never won a championship because they landed on the wrong team. This aint basketball. One guy can only do so much.. A QB is standing on the sidelines for 2/3 of the game so this insistence on putting it all on him is misguided at best. I know it's easy to say "___ QB has ___ record" but it is ALWAYS about the team.. Always has been.. always will be. Yes the QB is in position to influence the game the most of any single player.. But again.. he's standing on the sidelines for 2/3 of the game and there are 47 other players suited up for the game. We really need to move away from that whole QB record thing. I know it will never happen.. but it needs to.
Joe Montana and Tom Brady would be footnotes if they'd have been drafted by the Lions.

Nothing Dak can do when your defense gives up 200 yards rushing or keeps caving to lose these playoff games.

Those that understand football know its a team game. Dak will win when we have a team good enough to win and not before.

Andy Reid??? the guy that coached for 750 years and never won a title until Mahomes got him one? Reid, the guy that did just like billy Boy and as soon as McNab went away Reid sucked and got fired? Reid the guy that was with the Chiefs and was irrelevant until Mahomes took over? Mahomes who everyon was saying... "Lets ee how he does when Tyreke is gone<" and Mahomes is either 1st or 2nd in MVP this year? Mahomes, the guy that has taken the Chiefs to 4 straight AFC title games and 2 SB appearances in 4 years as a starter?

Coaches are all the same. Hey, Tomlin and Billy Boy are GREAT, right? Both coach 2 crappy teams right now.

Landry, Belichick, Jimmy J, Parcells, Shanahan, Reid have nothing to do with their team's success. Uh, OK.

Andy Reid, almost universally viewed as top-five offensive genius in football history
Andy Reid, 245-138 in regular season
Andy Reid, 19-16 in the playoffs

Why did he get FIRED in Philly?
To much playoff success did he have in KC prior to the CHOSEN Ones arrival in KC?

Coaches are 100% reliant on the great QB.
Jimmy J, who is my favorite coach of all time wen tto Miami and did jack squat.
George Seifert who was the all time winingest coach in NFL history left SF wen tot Carolina and sucked arse..... hmm, having Montana and Young helps a little.

Dak’s game today was a microcosm of his career. He was really good for part of it and had mental lapses in others. It’s hard to celebrate beating a backup QB today after the Eagles have pretty much wrapped up the division.

If we beat the Eagles in the playoffs with them playing their backup I’ll take that. But today was not as meaningful as it should have been. Dak pissed off wins against the Packers and Jags which really cost us a legit shot at the division.
They’re still playing for HFA. That in itself is a lot of incentive to go all in during a game.

It’s not as if Philly sat Hurts by choice to rest him for the playoffs. The man was injured.
