FINALLY! I knew that you would eventually spit out the real reason behind your latest... whatever you want to call it... dislike. It's not the formation that bites for you. It's the suggestion of using Felix Jones.

You haven't changed one bit. You didn't like the possibility of him joining the team before the draft, during the draft, certainly after the draft and throughout all of last offseason. And even though Felix Jones proved you wrong (yet again) about your incessant whining of:

--as a Dallas Cowboy, you obviously still hold a grudge against him. :bang2:

I would ask that you would finally get over it, but that would be like pailing for water in a dry well.

For yet another time (but it won't the the last for you), Jones was and is the better choice over than of your pet cat, Rashard Mendenhall. Sorry.

You can resume your whining now.

WOW. Great post. Daboys, do us all a favor and stop posting. Thanks. No one respects you and your input is garbage. That is all.Goodbye

DaBoys is a moron, and on ignore. But thanks to you guys quoting him, I accidently read something he wrote. He's right: pantsing Dave Campo in front of HBO cameras was an embarrassing act of disrespect. Parcells endured something similar when Bryant threw his towel in his face, or I'd say that sort of stuff would never have happened previously. Still, though, that Pac was comfortable doing that in front of a camera was a disgrace. I'd have run that whole position group into the ground that afternoon.

Pacman on OTL today was classic.

Ashamed he was ever a Dallas Cowboy.

Excellent work Hos. I'm pretty excited to see what this offense comes up with this year, that's for sure.

Wait: *you're* ashamed he was ever a Cowboy (I couldn't agree more) or *Pacman* said on OTL today *he* was ashamed he was ever a Cowboy? Must be the former, right?

Great minds think alike. I have been thinking about this personnel grouping a lot this formation as well. There are lots of great possibilities.

I agree with others that teams would most likely go to nickle against this group and that is what I would do. But it is more of a pick your poison kind of thing. The results could be disastrous staying in the base. Even if it is nickle, you could try to pass against it. We'll see how good felix is at running routes (he's got great potential), but with Witten, Roy Williams you have options.

And of course you can run it if the opponent deploys in nickle. You could have an I formation with Barber as the fullback. He is a willing blocker and against a nickle formation, I would with him being the lead blocker. You wouldn't want to beat Barber into the ground but you could run a few plays like this and as dangerous as Felix is it might not take long to make a big play.

You could also motion Barber out of the backfield and run Felix as a single back. This of course is in addition to running Barber as a single back. No matter what the defense does there are options.

I've thought a little bit about this and my two base offensive packages would be this one and the two te single back formation.

Um what? He said that?

I may have jumped the gun and should have waited for clarification also.

Did Adam Jones say he was ashamed of being a Cowboy?

It's probably the latter. Pacman ain't the sharpest tool in the shed. Geez... of all the things he has to be ashamed of.

You see where I am going with this don't you?

I see where you're going with this and I'm excited as well. FJ and Bennett are gonna make alot of BIG PLAYS this year. I'm anxious to see our O get everyone involved. FJ is a complete mismatch for defenses this year...

That's the kind of attitude that'll get your hair grabbed in one hand while he punches you in the face and spits on you. Or is that only something Pac does to the ladies?

I understood the temptation to sign the guy, but we should never have given in to it.

I'm embarrassed he was ever a Cowboy, too.

Great post HOS.

I touched up your formations a little. I really like the pro-set with Jones and Barber. It puts Barber at FB and I'm a proponent of this. I'd like to see this package for 30-35% of our plays.
I believe Barber could excel at FB for us and present the defense with a lot of mismatch problems. There's little doubt he would give us all the blocking we would want from a FB. He also presents a much better threat as a receiver than any other FB I can think of. Of course he offers a much better true run threat out of the split backs or as a single back when we put Jones in motion like your original senario.

As much as I like Barber at FB, this two TE set is really where I see our bread buttered.
I beleive we should run this 60% of the time or more. I even want to see it some on third down passing situations. Maybe on 3rd and 8 or less.

At times we can sub in Crayton for Austin or Williams and sub in Jones or Choice for Barber. That's fine. What I like best about it and why I think it'll work best for us is our TEs. They're the key to making this work as well as I envision it. They represent the ultimately dual blocking/receiving threats.

This formation/personel package with our TE's puts the maxium stress on a defense.

Indecision is the key word here. Defend the run or pass. Go nickle or go big. No defense facing this package can cheat or favor the run or pass. And that's the first step toward getting a defense on it's heels.

We ran a ton of sweeps last year. We just weren't very good at it for the most part. Every team runs sweeps. The pro set formation is probably used by every team as well, especially if they have any type of WCO influence which just about every team does.

Watch the Saints, Eagles, Seahawks, Texans, etc. and you will see a ton of pro-set formations.

YAKUZA

I knew the eagles and seahawks used it but a bad formation is a bad formation.
