Amen.

I'm done with this guy. It's pointless. I'd advise the rest of you who feel the same way to do the same.

Wade Phillips spit in the parking lot this morning...
That spit knows more about football than any of us.

Did you come up with this gem all on your own?

You should copyright it.

No, Flozell tried both and was horrific in the zone blocking scheme because he doesn't have the mobility to get out and block on that scheme. Get him in man-to-man and if he has a better chance of getting his hands on the defender and it's usually all over when that happens.

Frank Verducci tried to get Flozell into a zone blocking scheme and Flo thought so highly of the scheme and Verducci he almost choked Verducci to death during halftime of a game. They quickly dumped the zone blocking afterward because the O-Line didn't fit into the scheme, particularly Flozell.

Dat play the MLB spot in the 4-3. He got crushed in the 3-4 playing ILB and in 2003 Dat was downright fantastic in the 4-3 scheme.

It's the same with Ratliff. In the 3-4 two gap scheme he's too small to play starting NT and he winds up having to read the blockers instead of shooting gaps. Get Ratliff in a 3-4 one gap scheme (like now) or as a 4-3 DT (provided he isn't the one trying to clog space) and he'll be a great player because he's so good at shooting gaps. Get him in a 2-gap scheme and he's just another guy because he's not meant to read and contain gaps.

And this coming from the guy who got lambasted for thinking *at times* last year that Ratliff was playing NT better than Ware was playing OLB.

And get Urlacher, even in his prime, in a 3-4 two-gap scheme and he would probably have been far far less effective unless the D-Coordinator finds ways to protect him from blockers getting on him. In a one-gap scheme he would be great. Furthermore, would you put Montana in a Raiders/bomb it deep system? I sure wouldn't.

Simple terms. Flozell is lazy. Dat was injured. Rat would be a DE.

Did he just say Montana can't play in any type of offense? So Jerry Rice was catching 10 yard slants his whole career?

I don't even remember the point here anymore.

I guess you are saying Ratliff would be 'Spears' if he played DE for the Cowboys.

And again. I never said doesn't matter completely. What I said was that great players work in any scheme. You want to bring up names of Cowboys who were average. Flo isn't a great player and neither was Dat.

And then you say Urlacher and Montana wouldn't be great players for other teams. These two Hall Of Famers would surely disagree.

If Drew Brees, Steve Smith and Maurice Jones Drew listened to you they would not be playing in the NFL right now.

Flo didn't miss a game for year after year and then only missed time for a torn ACL. In 2008, he played through a badly infected hand and knee and foot injuries. In 2007, he gave up like 1 sack and dominated guys like Usi who only led the league in sacks.

No what he is saying is that he would suck in a 2 gap system. You apparently don't know what that means and I don't feel like wasting my time.

If you take Bettis or Campbell and run them on pitches and sweeps they aren't going to be very good. you run Belitnikoff on go's over and over again hes not going to be very good.

I mean hey lets put Deacon Jones at WR. Hes 'great' so it has to work.

If I had a canary and I thought it was nice then my canary would certainly think that the table was blue. Saying something doesn't make it true. You cannot speak for any of those men so quit trying.

Montana wasn't the same player in Marty Schottenheimer's scheme which was very different from Walsh's scheme.

It doesn't mean that Montana couldn't be a HOF'er in other teams, provided they had a similar offense. But it does say that in a deep pass pattern scheme I really challenge if Montana could have been a HOF'er. Call me forgetful, but I don't recall the Niners beating teams with the deep bomb.

Urlacher went thru years not being able to take on blockers, but was greatly helped by having Ted Washington protect him in the 4-3 early on and letting Urlacher get in open space where he's spectacular. But when Washington got injured, Urlacher became a target. Would you want that type of problem in a 3-4 two gap scheme where he has to take on guards?

If Drew Brees, Steve Smith and Maurice Jones Drew listened to you they would not be playing in the NFL right now.

And look at the schemes they play in. They play in schemes that fit their abilities. I don't see Steve Smith playing a possession receiver role. I don't see MJD working just running isolation plays. And I don't see Brees in a 7 step drop back scheme.

There's a reason why Clinton Portis runs in a zone blocking scheme and out on the edges and doesn't run basic isolation plays up the middle. There's a reason why Troy Aikman ran Chan Gailey out of town.

Commendable that you'd choose to walk and choose peace.
And thanks for letting us know what we too should do, ignore the fanatic.
But we is capable of determining whether we ignore or not, friendo.

Which is why I said "I advise". :) You may take it, or not. That's your choice. It's just a recommendation. Good luck Bud.

Another quitter.

:lmao:

That's my first post in this thread.

Pay attention.

I don't even read much you post anymore. You are wrong more than you are right and it's always the same crap anyway.

So, I was just telling him that I've been done with you for a while.
