Jerry talk of keeping MM signals to everyone he is not looking for a SB rather he wants just enough interest to keep the cash cow running.

Remember the NFL is registered as an entertainment company. You can bet Jerry understands this first and foremost.
There is a ton of truth in the above post. ^^^^^

Beating the Giants and Washington is simple par for the course.

Even in the three years Campo was here, 8 of the 15 total wins were against lowly division opponents (Arizona included at the time, yet 0-6 vs Philly).

Seeing Jerry gloat yesterday made me ill.

Do you mean the Washington team that is 7-5 with wins against the Giants x 2, Bengals, Cardinals, Browns, Bears, and Panthers but lost to the Eagles, Bucs, Steelers, Ravens, and Cowboys and is currently on a 3-game skid? The Commanders are as big of a mirage as the Cowboys are in my opinion. They've just had an easier schedule up to this point.
And when dissecting the Cowboys 2 game winning streak, tbe offense has scored 2 TDs in each of those wins. We’ve scored 61 points in 2 games and the defense/STs have given us 21 of those points.

Again, I’m not knocking anyone celebrating a Cowboys win. Just looking at the team without the rose colored glasses.

Fan hating myth. Jerry knows winning a SB will bring in more money than just keeping them relevant.

I disagree. It is just the fans opinion who want to hate on stuff.
Jerry knows winning a SB is more revenue than just keeping things relevant.
They just go about it the wrong way. Or at least the way the fans want them to.

Not defending them by any means. But there are more than 1 way to look at things. Yes, changes need to be made. But to think Jerry does not care is just not true.

That's all the team is to Jerry. When Jerry first bought the Cowboys it meant something significant to him to win, no he's on cruise control.

It's interesting the team starts playing better with less talent because the big money guys are injured. By better it seems to matter more to these guys now.

I will keep walking toward that mirage, until I get there, and if it is gone. I will keep walking.
I will not turn around and walk the other way if I see another.

No, I am not sucked in on the illusion of it will be great. It is because I am fan. I refuse to waste energy whining about anything and everything. That does not mean I will not be critical when needed. And we know, there is much to criticize. But I will not allow it to consume me. I have other things to do more important.

Amen. I love watching the Cowboys win, but the truth is, they beat a very bad team yesterday.

No I do not. You just do not understand being a fan. You hate on just about everything. And will find negatives in positives. Not that there have been a lot of positives this season, and off-season. But there have been some.

I been critical of Jerry, but you can't / won't accept it. You make stuff up that myself and other are his minions. NOT TRUE.

And again you are WRONG. I tell the truth. The term hater applies when it is posted. You are a Jerry HATER regardless.

lol.

Observers are constantly trapped within the perception Jerry Jones' primary motivation is making money. Wins validate Jones' self-qualification as a competent football executive. Observers dismiss this very real and significant facet of Jones' mindset.

Thus, each win works in Mike McCarthy favor of Jones retaining him as his head coach. However, the team's poor start worked against McCarthy's chances.

The fact remains Jones did not automatically renew McCarthy's contract before the season. Thus, he did not originally endorse retaining McCarthy.

McCarthy must still fulfill some type of achievement in Jones' mind. My opinion is that no less than an NFC Championship appearance will satisfy Jones' requirement to fully re-commit to McCarthy.

My opinion is unchanged. McCarthy is fighting the clock. Not reaching the postseason will not likely result in Jones' re-signing him. Same goes for the team not truly advancing in the postseason if it secures a playoff berth.

McCarthy is in the same situation he was before the season started. His contract will not be renewed unless he can impress Jones enough to keep him.

Or I can see that too Hawk. Which if it happens will be like a sequel to the GB playoff loss again. IMO, we’ve gone as far we can go with Big Mac who is a good HC but any coach in Big D has to operate with one hand tied behind his back and a giant albatross around his neck.

Bringing Mac back is the insanity of doing the same things and expecting different outcomes than we’ve had the last three decades.
One more clunker from Big Mac and this offense and I think it will be curtains.

Coming in slow and sloppy and dropping a game we should win in the next 3 weeks and I think the “miracle” talk dies down, the playoff dream dies, reality sets in, and his seat heats back up.

You have probably seen it in a movie or TV commercial sometime. The desperate wanderer who is lost in the desert is so hungry and thirsty that he begins to see things. Like a mirage of an oasis in the middle of the desert, complete with clear, cool water and food. But sadly, it’s not real. It’s a mirage.

Much like the desperate man in the desert, when your favorite team loses 5 games in a row, many of your best players are hurt and worse, has an 82 year old stubborn moron in charge of everything….it makes you desperate to see things that may not be there.

When I look at this Cowboys team on an improbable two game winning streak, I realize - this is still not a very good football team. It’s a mirage. Don‘t get me wrong. I’ve always said and still believe winning is always good for an NFL team. But it can also be a mirage.

I will never criticize or fault a Cowboys fan who is excited about a Cowboys win or who has hope that this two game winning streak means something in the big picture. But I cannot pretend that I believe this 2024 Cowboys team is somehow a good football team. It’s has just enough talent to be in lower half of mediocre teams. Maybe they finish 7-10 or 8-9. Meh.

The real hope for this team IMO lies in CHANGE, not keeping the same cast of characters in charge doing things the same way for the 30th straight year and us fans somehow seeing a mirage of an oasis. Whatever brings change, I want it. Whatever brings false hope, I’m tired of it.
The desperate wanderer you are talking about is Jerry!

Truth is truth even if nobody believes it or knows it and truth is a rare commodity. What most people put forward as truth is nothing more than the popular interpretation of evidence. To say that truth is in the eye of the beholder, would suggest that perception is more important than reality.
