There is a ton of truth in the above post. ^^^^^
I totally endorse continuing to call out our owner and what he’s done to our once proud franchise but unfortunately it’s not going to bring about the change we all want.

So beyond our constant ranting about it at some point we must come to terms with it and choose how we can continue to be a part of it .

And I’ve found that rooting to win each game without any expectations beyond each game best serves my interests and state of mind .

Couch Coach helped me with this mentality which has probably saved me from totally walking away in disgust of an owner who’s utmost priority isn’t winning.

Bob,I feel the same way.
I am so tired of the same ole, same old.
I am afraid if the Cowboys play good and not great, somehow stumble to a winning record, that this will give Jerry just enough justification to run this bunch back next season with Mac in charge.
I would rather the Cowboys crash and burn this season to maybe force some major changes in how they operate.
Easily your best post this month!!!!!! This is what scares me as well, Jerry is all about progress, and having a winning record even if we loss the way we did last year playing GB or doing poorly in 2024, but mustering out a decent record that shows him we were above average. To jerry that somehow means everything, to a smart GM there's SO MUCH more work that needs to be done

The bigger problem is too many fans have had false hope for years. I saw wayyyyy too much of it these last 3 years.

Too many fans bought into the hype . And only now have they become distraught.

But they should have rose up decades ago when we actually still had an opportunity to influence our owners ways to bring about real change .

Once the new stadium was built , PSL’s committed and stadium sponsors signed … game over .

We’ve supported this dysfunctional organization far too long to force any real change now. All we can do is wait for Mother Nature to take its course.

Jethro is about one thing. And it’s not about winning unless he’s in charge.

Cowboy fans need to discard these normal analysis made in comparisons to other Gm’s. That doesn’t apply here.

Nothing will change Jerry except the loss of profits. As long as Jerry sells merch and fills the stands, it's business as usual. Jerry knows he has a captive audience and truth be told, he doesn't have to change a thing. It's been 27 years of doing the same thing and it's profitable. We as fans can effect change, but that's not going to happen with most fans. I switched teams, I had enough of Jerry's charade.

This seems like a pretty smart and wise approach. I personally find it hard to root for winning when players do not even care about it. I watch now only for the spectacle. Wins or losses do not affect me much in any way. I am equally entertained by both success and failure. I am watching to see what the next crazy Sam Williams story is cause you know it won't be about quality football. I am waiting to see how insane the next Parsons contract will be. I am waiting to see if Zeke can actually drop below 3 YPC and still maintain a roster spot.

There is still some football being played that is worth watching. Overshown, Lewis and Bland to name a few. Some might not like them always but players like Kendricks, Turpin and Wilson always play hard. Lots of the young guys are playing hard as well. If you look closely enough you can still find scraps of good football.

Watching this team because I believe Dak, CD, Parsons, Diggs, Martin and D Flaw are gonna take the team all the way to the superbowl is complete madness IMHO. They are Jerry's spectacle or stars. Not mine.

I agree with much but part of being a Diehard fan is rooting for us to win regardless our situation or circumstances.

It doesn’t have to lead to anything. Just a win on any given day.

For decades we didn’t need this type of mentality but other franchises have had this with hope to eventually turn around .

Our hope rest on this owner no longer here. Until that happens our hopes are on hold or limited at best. All we can do is root for these individual victories like other dormant teams.

We must accept the Cowboys are no longer a championship caliber organization. Only in name and history.

And the fix is in with the NFL. There’s nothing we can do. PSL’s will not allow season ticket holders to bow out without losing tens of thousands dollars. So they will continue brokering them out mostly to opposing fans .

With equal TV sharing revenue Cowboys get same take regardless which game we watch. And stadium sponsors will keep pouring in with fans in the seats.

Success on the field isn’t required any longer for success off the field. Jethro’s revolutionary revenue streams he was inducted for has ensured this.

To qoute the great Captain Jack Sparrow...there are only 2 things that matter, what man can do and what a man can't do....for instance under the current FO structure they can have good runs during a regular season...but they wont have any playoff success....the only question is as a fan can you live with that or can you not....

I suppose we have many fans outside our local or regional viewing area which abandoned their local team for glory and popularity of the Cowboys in their championship eras and can’t handle following a more dormant team now.

But for us local diehards this will always be our team regardless how much we hate our owner , direction it’s headed and lack of success, etc.

It’s like following our Alma Mater or one of your child’s team. Doesn’t matter how much they suk you still root for them to win. There’s no looking for a better team to root for. It’s just not as much fun when you’re losing.

Me and my wife have started a good Gameday ritual during the games...we flip Jerry off anytime he is on TV and take a drink..we may use choice words to describe our feeling for him also..

All I saw was a win and my size 15s up on a pillow on my coffee table. Snuggled up with my Cowboys blanket and laughing at the fans that were so pissed off that we won. It was a nice afternoon. I'll worry about Jerry's stupidity and Dak's contract after the season, actually, I won't...since I can't do anything about them, I'll just keep drinking my kool-aid and wearing my rose colored Gargoyles. Salud!
Which of your Dak jerseys were you wearing?

An 8 and 8 team that was 12 and 5 for 3 straight years.
You are stuck on this 12-5 agenda. For the 3rd or 4th time, what did we win in those seasons? Don’t come back with the participation trophy crap. The team that loses the SB is nothing more than the last loser. We can’t even sniff a conference championship game.

They can sniff it and they have been doing better than most of the league recently.
