A moment of respect for Kirk Cousins

Stat compiler loser? You sound like you are describing a lot of people. Like Zeke for instance. Cousins has always been good. You are just late to the game.

Romo didnt make fatal mistakes that lost games for us?

What cousins lacks is true leadership.

The Cowboys have a winning record with Zeke in the lineup.. They have a ridiculously good record when they give him the ball a lot.. therefore the assertion that he could be considered a stat compiler and loser is as false as it is misguided. Cousins on the other hand is a .500 lifetime QB.. and I would wager heavily that if we looked at games in which HE has been asked to throw a lot his teams have a losing record.. Whaddaya think?

Sorry to bust your homer bubble.

What have the Cowboys won with Zeke or Dak or anyone on the team for that matter? Nothing more than the Vikings which is diddly.

QB's dont have records.

If Cousins is a loser then so is Dak and Zeke. Cant have it both ways.

Dak and Zeke are 20 games above .500 in their careers.. Cousins is .500. It's the territory of softheads to declare anybody that doesn't win the championship a loser. Cousins is a loser because for most of his career his teams have had losing records with him and a lot of it has been because of his deficiencies as a QB. He took a team that Case Keenum took to 13-3 and in the NFC Championship game and promptly guided them to 8-7-1. He doesn't stink.. In fact he's pretty good. He's just not great..

Dak and Zeke dont have records. Neither does Keenum or Cousins.

Winners make the playoffs. Winners win in the playoffs.

Only losers think the regular season is for winners.

Sorry if Cousins is a loser, so is your hero Zeke and so is Dak.

we broke Sam Darnold to the point that the cats have gone winless and he was benched since we played him, we will do the same to Cousins..
cousins is far better then darnold..darnolds never been good, period..hes the maybe hes got talent and upside player and the jets held him back guy..umm he wasnt..he isn't..he spare part qb Cousins is very good starter, period..

He is what we thought he was..

I have never been a huge fan of his.. He's always been a stat compiler and loser to me.. But upon further review I gotta give it up to him. He has now evolved into that realm where Romo eventually got to in 2013.. He no longer makes the fatal mistake that loses his team the game.. He manages the game pretty well now.. He throws the ball well and cannot be fooled very often. I still don't believe he's put the team on my back QB but it would be intellectually dishonest to not acknowledge what he has become. His passer rating is tad inflated because he runs the WCO but he's got weapons and he finds them. As long as Cook is in the lineup to keep the defense off him he's dangerous..
The difference in him is experience. QBs are completely reliant on their coordinators and schemes early in their careers. But if they can survive long enough the experience slows the game down for them. That doesn’t mean they’ll win a SB or have post-season success because it’s ultimately a team game.

This game will come down to TD vs FG. We need that 1st half execution that we have been lacking. Everyone knows we light people on fire in the 2nd half but doing it in the 1st is the secret to unlocking the complete game we seem to stumble with all the time. Break their D in the 1st. I still remember the Aikman SB teams where it was 4/5 plays and then end zone and the other team knew they were dead from the start.

Cousins doesn't scare me like Herbert or someone of that caliber. But I respect his talent and he's the type of guy that can just explode for a great game and then go back to mediocrity. I feel our defense will contain him but I'm hoping our defense respects what he can do. Dalvin scares me tho. I'm worried about him.

My question is, is their defense able to contain our offense? How scared of us are they?

Cousins is highly talented in the pure passing area but quite vulnerable to falling apart when confronted with pressure. Not good!
I expect to see Dan Quinn turn his dogs loose, on frequent occasions, to exact the scary kind of pressure that Cousins won't like! :muttley:

The Vikings are giving up 4.8 ypc on the ground and have not held a single team to less than 103 yards. This screams Zeke and Pollard to me. They ran wild on the Vikings last year with Dalton at QB.. I shudder to think what they might do with Dak under center. I mention this because this means we could pound them on the ground, control the clock and limit their possessions, which might hold the score down.

They have had injuries to their DT's lately. I believe they will be heathly for this game. Could prove to be tough sledding.

2016 Thanksgiving Day

Cousins, 41/53 449 yards 8.5 ypa 3 TD 120.7 rating
Prescott, 17/24 195 yards 8.1 ypa 1 TD 108.9 rating

Dallas won a close game late because they had a robust run game, Washington had none.

Cousins has *always* been better than people think.

This looks a lot like confirmation of my initial assertion that Cousins was a stat padding loser. Great stats.. loss..

Yeah…

Remember when you said we shouldn’t sign Dak and that instead, you’d rather spend the money on cup of coffee and dry toast?

Remember that?

I’m glad you realized the error of your ways and how utterly stupid and moronic your position was, but you’re not going to get away with rewriting history, either in the sense of revamping how utterly stupid you were by now attempting to misrepresent what you posted back then and felt at the time OR by changing the narrative over how awesome Dak has been since 2019 and how much he’s won since becoming QB of the Cowboys. You know, like you just tried to do lol.

I won’t let you ..

You’ll be another side project for me

Yeah but not signing Dak has more to do with my big picture stance that includes QBs I viewed as elite. I don’t think any QB that hasn’t won a title is worth giving a contract to that holds the team hostage.

Also, you can just go through Dak’s numbers and look who he was padding his stats on.

This year is just different.. He shows up every week against every team through out the whole game.

yeah sure…

THIS year is “just different”…

It couldn’t possibly be that you were just stone cold wrong all the other years…

Nah It just couldn’t be that lol

One thing we should realize is that its almost worthless evaluating most quarterbacks that play our team

For Gods sake, we made Colt McCoy look like Joe Montana any time he played us while he couldn’t do squat against any other team.......I would be stunned if Cousins doesn’t carve us up......unless Micah and Trevon and company can stop this cycle
