A Philly Man with Insight

I have always said the philly fans are the worst in sports. They boo their own when they come to town even.

what's really sad is that Philly is a really cool town in and of itself. what with Independence Hall and the American Philosophical Society, and the sporting stadiums are beautifully designed. It is the typical Philly fan that gives the city a black eye.
I've only been to Philly once and didn't see the entire city, so I could be wrong. I did enjoy Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, etc. but outside of that the city was filthy and the people were rude. Never want to go back and I wouldn't live there for anything.

It's a badge of honor for most fans to be scum.
And they are a glorious success in that regard. They are obnoxious, scumbags.

I would never take my son into Philly or NY with Cowboys gear and subject him to those idiots. My buddies dad has season tickets to the Packers and he said their fans are really cool to him when he goes to a Cowboys game. We are going to drive over for that game in 2 weeks as his dad gave us 2 tickets.

And ya, i don't trust the Mets as far as i can throw them. The Phils on the other hand never quit. Good luck;)
Enjoy your trip to Lambeau!

I kind of like playing away games. Romo is 12-2 in them and should be 13-1 if not for that awful field goal debacle against the Commanders. Tony is good under pressure.

Yeah, the sad thing is they'll actually say that because they are obnoxious and horrible people to be around, that's what makes them the best fans.

I hope you have a good time in Packerland. They were very humble when I went up there awhile ago, and didn't bother me at all. You'll have a good time. Except dealing with those ridiculous cheese hats. Some people got annoyed with me at times because those things kept making me laugh.

Good luck to the Mets too. It'll be a nail biter all the way through until they can figure out how to hit Johan's dang change up. :banghead:

The last time my bud went to a Pac-Boys game he picked me up a cheese head and i painted it silver and put star decals on it, but i don't want to be an awesome person so i won't wear it at the game, but i will wear it to the sports bar before we go into Lambeau. I'm expecting some pretty harsh comments but it's all in good fun.

We lost Wagner for the year yesterday so that's gonna hurt.

We weren't playing for anything, they were trying to make the playoffs. The only game that matters last year was when we dismembered them inside that **** hole of a city.

wow that is an interesting perspective.

Philly has bad karma! You can't take your children to a sports event in this city without hearing some vulgar reference to T.O. or the Cowboys, even at a Phillies game. Low class to the nth degree.

Philly fans are pathetic pieces of crap... I lost all respect for them when they cheered when Michael Irvin laid motionless on that raggedy beatup turf.

On my last trip to Philly, I came down with a bad case of food poisoning. I'll never visit there again, at least not on purpose.

to return to the game. The Phillies fans are known to be the toughest in all of sports

What they are has nothing to do with being tough. While I'm sure they may have some fans that are ok, generally the entire population of Philly that even have an ounce of being a sports fan are garbage. This goes far beyond being limited to a small number of fans.

I went to Philly in 2006 and stopped in a sports bar to have a late dinner. I informed the bartender that I was a Cowboys fan and we harrased each while I was there. About 2 hours after I left, I was extremely sick from food poisoning. I'm 98% positive he is the reason for it.

The following day before I caught the train back to NY, I went back there and reported the food poisoning and what I think happen. The owner of the bar wanted to "settle" immediately without outside envolvement. Since it lasted only around 12 hours and I was going home, I accepted.

My hate for that entire city sahot through the roof after that. Of course, they are still aren't the most hated. That would be the Foreskins.

:laugh2: LOL! I seem to remember a game back in the late 80s or early 90s wear they tossed battery-filled snowballs at the Boyz as they ran off the field. Pathetic.

LOL. Probably the same place and same bartender. I was going to watch the Cowboys vs. Eagles game up there at the Linc, and wound up selling my tix to another Cowboy fan at the last minute. I watched the game at a sportsbar with my Cowboys stuff on...and wound up getting really sick.

Philadelphia Fans Don't Deserve Championship Teams

Everyone who's been to a ballpark knows that there are always going to be a number of fans who swill endless amounts of overpriced beer, scream obscenities at the players and generally make idiots out of themselves; but in Philadelphia overindulgence in alcohol cannot explain the antisocial behavior that is seen to be inherent in every sport attended by Philadelphia fans.
In tonight's game between the Mets and Phillies, Mets shortstop Jose Reyes was stealing second and on the head first slide, bashed his head into the knee of Phillies second baseman Chase Utley. Reyes lay prone at second base, dirt caked on his head and manager Willie Randolph and trainer Ray Ramirez converging around him to make sure he wasn't seriously hurt. After a few minutes on the ground, Reyes rose and, still seeming somewhat dazed, was able to regain his senses to the point where he was able to stay in the game. The Phillies fans, ignoring the etiquette that is accepted throughout sports, booed Reyes as he rose to return to the game. The Phillies fans are known to be the toughest in all of sports, but isn't cheering a player getting injured and booing when he isn't seriously hurt seen to be over the line even for the drunk and just plain obnoxious?

just another reason for me to hate Philly

My Dad took me to a Cowboys/Eagles game at Veteran's Stadium when I was 11 and I was of course wearing my Cowboys jacket. Fans there cursed at me in my face. It was so horrible that we left at halftime.

Philadephia Fans are no doubt the worse. And the sad part about it is that they embrace the hate. The more the media talks about how bad they are, the prouder they are.

I was watching the game between the Mets and Phillies and the fans were horrible about Reyes. What is funny tho is that the players actually seem to like each other. After that play Utley and Howard were encouraging Reyes. You would think the attitude of the fans would influence the players but it doesnt.

For the most part I think the Eagle-Cowboy rivalry is a step above the rivalry between the Mets and Phillies. Mets-Phillies have never been good together until the past two years. Eagles Cowboys seem to have a lot more hate because of the competition over the year but again, I don't think the players actually dislike each other. The hate is usually reserved for the fans...

They need to replace the Linc with one of these...

that is utterly pathetic. to curse a young girl is extreme cowardice. did the Cowboys win that game?
