So many replies seem hell bent on a black & white outcome. How about both Garrett and Big Mike succeed?
Maybe Garrett helps get the G-Men back to the winning records, and Big Mike does a better job getting the Cowboys past the first or second round of the Playoffs?
Sometimes it just wasn't meant to happen. No one says Belichick isn't one of the best coaches of all time just because he never did much in Cleveland.
I think every coach at a high level works their butt off. I think some are better fits for player talents and franchises, and I think some are just better talent evaluators, game planners or people managers.
But I also think it's a highly competitive sport, with a lot of luck involved with injuries, suspensions, freak plays, and sometimes it just doesn't work out.
