Zeke's holdout was only effective because the brain trust running this gong show of an organization caved in to his demands when he was still under contract....sometimes far too often with this organization you can't fix stupid!!

Yep! Grown money crying about a man trying to get as much as he can. Any man worth their salt would have done the same thing.
Huh?

A grown man holds out on his employer 2 years before his contract is up and demands a record setting salary? Really? That's what "grown men" do who are worth their salt?

Hmmm. I guess that I was raised with a higher standard than you were raised.

Did you read my post? I literally said he is the modern athlete and that I do not blame him for it but personally I will remember him as a slob and a sell out. Earl Campbell is one of my all time favorite players and I will always remember him as a god among men. If Earl had the chance to do it over and make bank and retire early would he? Even if it meant no Hall of fame and instead of loving you forever people think of you as a turd and soon forget? Perhaps. Some would and some wouldn't. Like you say times have changed.
Apologies for coming off as harsh, I took your comment that modern players were greedy and other guys of the past weren’t m. All players in every generation played for money and fame.

I thought Earl said he wouldn’t, but I just verified and he said he has no regrets, though he fell into alcohol use and pain killer abuse for a long time, but he now sober.

This article from 2001 tells you how bad it is for those old football players.

Just wish I'd made some of the money they're making today. It would make this a lot easier to live with.

Don't talk about how I was raised. Freaking coward....real tough behind a keyboard....apparently your parents didn't raise you to have self-esteem.

It was a perfect storm situation. An owner who loves to resign his own guys who have played well spent a top 5 pick on him and he was the best RB in the league for those years leading up to his new contract. The identity of the team at the time was power running behind a massively talented Oline. Jerry went ahead and caved by setting the market at RB. It wasn't way more than other RBs had gotten at the time but the way it was structured allowed him to get a lot of it early on. No one could have predicted how the OL and Zeke's skills would deteriorate so quickly. Sucked to watch it happen.

Why do you keep quoting me while telling me to stay out of your petty thread?
He can't help himself....makes him feel tough. Get out while you can, he'll hook you with his trolling. I would put him on ignore, but he's too entertaining and comical.

You did have me on ignore for a little while.

Then sent me an "I'm sorry" message to my inbox after you took me off ignore.

Tell the whole story now, Ranch.
