A rumor-Dallas trading back up into the 1st round

I think it's ridiculous to not make a trade that works in your favor because your trading partner is a divisional rival.

I never understood the bizarre thinking where you have to worry about what the other teams in our division is doing on draft day. As long as we do right by us, I don't really care what the other teams do.

In 2011, we made a deal with Philly in the 2nd round and ended up with Sean Lee and the Eagles ended up with squat after trading our 2nd rounder they got to Cleveland.

In 2014, we traded with Washington in the 2nd round and ended up with Lawrence and they ended up with Trent Murphy and Long.

Both times we made out well.

That's not true either. Deals have gone down in the past between us and other teams in our division.

Why not just trade up from #4 to #1 or #2 and take the best QB prospect, might cost us less than our #2, #3 and #6

would cost way more than that to get to 1st overall, Chris. Almost certainly next year's 1st on top of that and maybe more.
But that might do it to get to 2nd overall. Would be pretty tough to give all that up though.

Since they've never won one, I can't really imagine that.

Impossible to gauge without knowing who is on the board. Same reason I think it's BS: It's far too early in the process to be serious about it.
