A Tale of Two QB's

This is just some interesting information for us to digest. Take from it what you will and not intended to start arguments one way or the other.

On a personal note, although I don't like Dak, I do like Jared and if they have such similar careers, I can at least admit that Dak is a good QB for the Cowboys and just needs to deliver in the playoffs to move to the next tier. Crazy how close they are in a lot of ways. Goff has 12 more games played than Dak, factoring that in and their stats are even closer. Not counting Dak's early career dual threat stats as Goff has never been a runner.

The difference is that Dak has never produced when the Cowboys were counting on him to be their leader.
Goff has. He has won big games with two different teams.
Imagine if Goff had CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.

Oh and I forgot to mention.... Goff has 2 championship appearances with 2 different teams. I think we can all safely assume that if Dak played both another team, he would never recover and would be out of the league in a season or 2.
Yes, he had two playoff appearances, with two different teams. And failed with both teams. I don’t think Prescott would’ve failed if he had that talent behind him.

So pretty comparable then. Goff is a good QB overall. He’s been on some capable organizations as well with excellent coaching.
That's the difference. He's been set up for success. I remember when McVay said he devised plays for Goff, so he wouldn't have to look at both sides of the field to go through his progressions.

He put up 30 points against Detroit, you put up 30 points you expect to win

Back to making nonsense

Goff's success in the Playoffs is the difference, but Dak is great value from a 4th round pick.

Really? When you settle for field goals each time you are in scoring position?
Goff didn't settle for field goals; he drove the team into the end zone.
There's the difference.

H
Based upon what do you make this claim? He would be OUT OF THE LEAGUE in a season or two?

Can’t wait to hear the rationale behind this.
He is a system QB. By the 2nd season of any other team, they would lose patience with him. It has taken him 9-10 years to fix his accuracy issues. He's not a quick learner.

imagine if Goff had Garrett as his headcoach. I know how much you loved Garrett
:lmao:

They both are very good. Especially, when you compare them to all qbs.

Imagine if they call the penalty on Detroit instead of the bogus call on Ferguson and the Cowboys get the td to cut it to 3 and the Cowboys get the ball back to Dak with it being a 1 score game.

But there was no penalty on Detroit.
Some of you guys expect the refs to win the game for the Cowboys, but it didn't happen this time.
And Ferguson clearly DID grab the defender's shoulder pads and sling him. It was offensive pass interference.
You guys have blindly ignored Pickens getting away with it all season because it fit your narrative, but it didn't save the Cowboys (Dak) this time.

If you were the HC of the opposition you'd dial up an increased number of blitz's and against Dak, go all out to get a lead and sit in zone (play the odds that his anxiety will get the better of him).
a) What is "all out to get a lead"? Do coaches often allow the other team to get a lead as a rope a dope tactic?

b)I thought that at least once upon a time Dak had good numbers against blitzes.

I do think that historically Dak has been worse against the zone. He'd throw a tick late and give up picks from the defender in the zone the WR was running into.

There was pass interference on Detroit. They called it backwards.

If Dak had Sean McVay and Ben Johnson he too probably would have championship appearance……if Goff was in Dallas he’d he Chad Hutchinson.

For the next few days.....I guess we''ll soon find some wish Andy Dalton or Cooper Rush were leading this team again. For that matter, I think some are still fuming Jerry didn't take Payton Lynch or Johnny Manziel. Or how about a Kenny Pickett (#9 pick) or Zach Wilson (#2 pick)? Absolutely comical.
