Hos. I genuinely appreciate the work you and the other mods do to keep us in check and make this a pleasurable place for us to come and use for interaction (some good some bad). I sincerely wish we were all looking at the opposite end of the coin today and celebrating a strong start to December accompanied by a 10-3 Division leading record. I find no personal satisfaction in expressing my disgust at the state of this team. It does help somewhat to be able to express myself in these threads (and in others ways as I am sure you can see). However, it is what it is and we're witnessing another slide down the slippery slope of inability to finish the job. I look forward to the days we're all talking positively about the state of the team. I really do. It's a sad situation right now and I commend all mods for dealing with the variety of post game reactions gracefully. Much appreciated...
Thank you, but I'm afraid this doesn't help.

Did you enjoy the Atlanta win? How about the Philly win?

Wish I could have. I really wish I could have.

You believe if we were 10-3 it would be different and I don't believe for one minute it would be. Thank you for at least realizing the reactions in here that we have to deal with make it unbearable for us.

Days where we're all talking positive about this team? Those days don't exist.

You could do me a huge favor by never reading my posts, responding to them, or asking me anything. I consider you to be an absolute waste of time to read beyond seeing if you've broken any rules (which I am glad to say you follow the rules). Beyond that I have no interest in the spin control and complete lack of substance that you spew.

Maybe you need to consider not being a moderator here any longer. You are taking it too personally. Part of that is your own arrogance. I know you don't want to hear that, but it is what it is.

Thats absolutely true.

I remember when we were 12-1 after coming from behind to beat detroit, everyone complained. Romo fumbles, our defense sucks....blah blah blah.......watkins and mosely did their usual, yea they have won 12 games but there not really that good bit.....

Its just the way it is and it stinks most of the time.

Ah well. I just wanted to express my thanks. We're all a lot to put up with.

I enjoyed both wins but also realize I didn't have to come here to moderate the overreaction. Hats off to all of you.

It would be slightly different but there would always be some level of resistance. It's what makes this such a great message board. (differing opinions and cerebral discussion)

I'm hopeful those day will soon return. Something has to change. This team cannot just keep coming up short every year. They teased us with 5 championships. We would like to see a few more in our lifetime.

I think it is 100 times worse than in those days.

Yea, but you know what ? I prefer THIS days than those.

From 2000 - 2003, there was no hope. Hell, there's nothing worse than 2000 when you know you're going to end up drafting in the top 10 part of the draft, only your pick belongs to somebody else.

It's this disappointing ? You betcha. Dallas Cowboys fans, especially old timers, know that not even playoffs wins are enough. Believe me, those who claim that all they want is a playoff win are lying to themselves. The Cowboys won plenty of playoffs games during the 80's, but it was still a failure.

The ultimate, semi-satisfaction for us is hoisting the Lombardi above our heads. I say semi-satisfaction because we're not content on doing it just one year, we have to do it the next year as well. Everything else are just different levels of " hope ", as in " hopefully the team gets better " or " if they don't make changes there's no hope ".

Right now there IS " hope ". Right now there IS some talent on this team that frustrates the living hell out of us, BUT gives us even a sliver of a chance to compete. I'd rather have that than what the Browns have. I'd rather have than than what the Commanders have. I'd rather have that than what the Bills have, or what Rams have, or what the Seahawks have or what the Raiders have.

I don't EVER want to go back to 2000-2003. I wasn't alive from 1960-1965, so I don't know how that experience was for Cowboys' fans, but I've been alive since 1969 and I've been through some bad times with this team ( late '80's ). Still, the 2000-2003 seasons are, by far, the worst that I've experienced.

If those years and this years are only 2 choices, give me this time every day of the year and twice and Sunday, I don't care if they choke every December 'til the end of time.

maybe.

but maybe not.

i've been saying this place is a joy-kill for quite awhile now. yes, i've chosen to post less and then just try to ignore all the people who preach doom/gloom with every post.

i realize it's a hard time.
i realize fans get upset and need to vent
and yes, i realize forums are a good place for that.

but anytime someone wants to talk about positives, it's met with a wall of HOW DARE YOU YOU JERRY LOVER!!!!???

these "extreme" people seem to only see in these extremes. if you don't feel the way i do you must feel the total opposite and suddenly you find yourself in the stupidest of arguments because "the extreme" is making up your side for you cause they hate a lot.

hos - arrogant?

heh, that's just darned funny, cowboy. hos is one of the most down to earth people i've known and would do anything to help a friend and likely even people he doesn't care for too.

so while people "vent" because we're in another tailspin we're *all* tired of, others will choose a "venting" of their own purpose and reason and yea - venting at all the negativity - i'm on that one.

if that makes me arrogant, ok. whatever.

I found forums as a hobby the day Emmitt broke Payton's rushing record. That was in 2002. I just wanted to celebrate with my fellow Cowboys fans. I couldn't wait. I found the DMN and made a few friends and a lot of enemies. I had a blast.

Parcells got hired on my wife's birthday and I actually said that I got the better present. I enjoyed 2003 despite some awful talent. Then came the FOB moves and I quickly soured on Parcells. 2006 was the only season I have really enjoyed in a long time and I could barely enjoy that. I feel really bad for Tony Romo. He's marked for life it seems over a slick ball and bobble in the playoffs in 2006 after he absolutely saved this franchise.

He's playing outstanding football, in December, and unfortunately we've lost both games so nobody even knows.

I have only enjoyed one thing about this season. The malcontents on the team are gone. I wish their parrots in the media would shut the hell up. Maybe the cacophony of the fans would quiet down. I can only hope.

Seriously? The mods are that miserable? You make it sound like you're all on the verge of suicide.

Hos, if you let this stuff make you not enjoy the wins, then the terrorists have won.

I've enjoyed this season more since 2007, when we we're on a roll. Yea it's frustrating because THERE is talent here to do more than what they're doing, but overall, it's been a solid year. Hell, nobody gave the Cowboys any credit and they've been in first place for over 2 months ? and had a chance to put it away early.

Now, that doesn't mean it's enough for me and part of their underachieving during this " overachieving season " ( if that makes sense ) it's what's frustrating, but there have been some good times. I didn't expect to go to the SB this year anyways, but would have liked to be surprised, especially since it's in my backyard.

Let me make a correction: I meant from 2000-2002 ( more specifically, the Campo years ). I didn't quite enjoyed Emmitt's record breaking season. It was a bit hollow for me because of the circumstances surrounding it. Those were horrible times imo. No leadership, no direction, not knowing what to do in the draft, and having more men starting at the QB position than Paris Hilton in her closet.

Don't ever want to go back to that..

Interesting thread.

I don't see how one can blame just Jerry, the coaches or the players for the failures. It's a joint venture. And I say that hoping people understand we are still in the hunt and have an 8-5 record. We haven't played the Saints yet and we have games against Philly and Was that we can definitely win.

Some of you need to back up from the ledge. There's still an opportunity to jump later.

And I'm not saying all is well. I understand the frustration and the unrealized hopes and dreams. I'm sure the players, coaches and FO are upset as well.

I have my own personal thoughts on what needs to be done but I think I'll keep that to myself for now.

Interesting thread.

While I'm sure it gets frustrating for them at times, but at the same time it's just a football forum and NO ONE is forcing any of them to be a mod if they really don't want to be one.

You know, I wouldn't put up with a paying job if it caused me that much grief - so I sure as heck wouldn't put up with a volunteer position if I absolutely hated doing it.
