A Touch of Hostility... Week 14

Did you guys see the camera pan over to Jerry's box suite? One caption showed him with both hands covering his face. The last shot shown was of Jerry angrily tossing whatever it was in his hands off the table. You know he was pissed and rightfully so.

I didn't think the Cowboys played bad, but just not good enough. We indeed left points on the board. Thank you Nick Folk for once again shanking a makeable FG. And why did Garrett have Marion Barber take the handoff from the lead back position? Stupid.

If I had the opportunity to call the play, I would have put in Marcus Spears as the FB and ran Barber right behind him and Leonard Davis. Instead, the entire Charger's defense knew who was getting the ball. 10 points left on the field. Pathetic.

The Chargers were not the better team today, but they capitlized on what we couldn't. My hats off to them.

This is old. Yes they were. They executed. In sports.................that's what makes you better.

The WORST record in NFL history for a decade in the month of December!

Worse than the 70's New Orleans AINTS!!

Just think about that fact for a moment and let it sink in and you begin to comprehend just how bad of a GM Jerry Jones really is.

And certain people wonder why some of us put an emphasis on seeing how the team does down the stretch. I'll take every win I can get, but until they learn how to win in December/January then it doesn't mean a whole lot.

Right now they still have three more shots at it, but they've just squandered 2 attempts and it's not getting much easier from here on out.

Jerry Jones is most definitely the root of the Cowboys' problem. However, he's not a 'bad' GM, merely mediocre -- which is arguably worse. At least if Jerry was unequivocally awful, he would be unable to falsely convince himself of his own competency. Instead, he acquires just enough talent to win 8 or 9 games, and the Cowboys remain mired in mediocrity.

Ugh.

This is the time of year in which the hopelessness starts setting in.

^^^This^^^

The Chargers were the better team on both the field and the sidelines. If the Cowboys had comparable talent, they wouldn't have been trailing by two scores late in the game despite winning the turnover battle.

Learn the game.

sorry hostile, i know you're down but tough luck... all cowboy fans are.

your lame quips only make you look foolish to anyone but jerry's happy fans. excuse-o-rama.

you imagine yourself as some glorious player (you weren't) and some super-guru on football (you're not either). I won't even mock on it i'm just telling you it's silly.

YOU CAN'T SEE THE FOREST IN THE TREES that is not a knock. Just as i can't throw a football very well at least i know my limitations. Seeing right thru this Cowboy charade comes is crystal clear to me, and most cowboy fans. Not you... which is your cross to bear, that no insults to others can remove.

Happy Holidays!

Technically speaking we only have 2 more shots at it. The Eagles game is actually in January so, technically speaking, the best we can hope for in December this year is a 2-2 record. :p

It had nothing to do with preparation. Only execution my friend.
The team seemed very well prepared and ready to play, they just lost. No excuses, but one team has to lose and now it has been Dallas-- 5 times out of 13 games.

It's absolutely sickening what that man's ego has done to this franchise. He just couldn't be content with being a winning owner. He just had to try to run it himself and his quest for the limelight has been one of the main factors that has kept us from winning the last decade+.

And I always love the people who still say Jerry is the best owner and will do anything it takes to win, when it's total B.S. Doing all you can to win would mean hiring a quality GM and not meddling in the coaching decisions. So people can spare the the line that he does all he can to win until he actually puts the team ahead of himself.

Well said :starspin

I am with Hostile on this. I have the same feeling every sunday because I am always worried about not having a shutdown defense that can get the ball back in the 4th quarter when we need it most. I haven't enjoyed a game since the glory days of 1995, at that time a loss is a surprise.

I said 10-6 at the beginning of the season and still said 10-6 a couple of weeks ago. Now I'm still hoping for 10-6--with one of the wins being vs Philly.

I'm disappointed with the loss, but this team is about what I thought it was.

Hos and several other posters have made excellent points about being unable to enjoy the game. If stalwart fans such as you are feeling this way, we can only imagine what less passionate fans around the country are feeling.

Eventually, this lack of joy and, in some cases, foreboding over the games will turn into apathy; people will simply stop caring about the Cowboys. And when they stop caring, they'll stop buying tickets and merchandise. Jerry Jones' billion dollar testament to his own ego will become mostly empty on Sundays.

Jerry Jones must understand and see this. He must see that his general management is not only driving a once-proud franchise into the ground, it's eroding the fan base.

Blame it on the NFL schedule makers. Everyone predicted the Saints,Chargers and Eagles would be good this year. They know our December failures. Its another conspiracy! LOL. They could have schduled us Tampa Bay and Seattle instead of San Diego and Nawlins.

Technically I did mention December/January.

Y'know, last year I lost hope for the season after the Pittsburgh game.

This season, it came with the Packers/Commanders games. The offensive output was pathetic, the defense played good enough. I knew that wouldn't last and with the schedule coming up, I knew it wouldn't be nearly enough to win.

It's funny because as soon as the season's over, my hopes for the next season will be sky high, but this month has been such a downer the last few years.

At this point, I'll be satisfied with just sweeping the Commanders. That'd be good enough for me.

Any rational person would think so. But when it comes to egomaniacs, it doesn't always work that way.

BTW Hos, have you heard anything about Trent Cole? COuld he be facing suspension? ...I'm grasping at any shreds of hope for the season here
