Is it alright to cheer for them and believe that they can get it turned around?

I have pretty much laid low today since I knew today would be the day for the holling and screaming fire everyone group. I make no excuses for the play of the team I do think they are capable of playing much better if I didn't then I would not be disappointed in their loss yesterday. Everyone right now pretends to know the cure for the club myself I don't know what the cure is I do know they are capable of more and still expect that out of them.

Don't get me wrong, Dooms, I still cheer for them and I always have and will (since 1976, in fact).

I still have my T Dorsett rookie cards, etc.

And let me tell you, I hope they prove me wrong. (and I've been saying that for what seems a long, long time)

But trying to be objective, given what we know of this team for the past few years, this year seems to be a similar pattern.

For whatever reason, and it's not just Romo's fault, or Wade's fault, or the Secondary's fault, this team just doesn't seem to have what it takes to deal with pressure.

And it's not solely based on being 2-2 this year. But this year thus far seems to be like groundhog day - it happens every year, if you know what I mean.

Of course, one day we will turn that corner. I have no doubt.

But hand on heart, I doubt it's going to be with Wade as our HC.

What we witnessed yesterday is another example of a team that lacks character, heart and a kill attitude. We have seen it before in recent years, yet many of you still hold out hope that things will change. You say we have more talent than most teams. Do we really? I dont think so.

Last year we had 44-6, so we cleaned house. Blah Blah. Nothing has changed.

Put the Cowboys Kool-Aid down. 2007 was a mirage as well as the 13 Pro-Bowlers that came with it. The Cowboys are an average team with a decent QB who in my opinion still does not get it. Is he all to blame, of course not.

From top down, the Cowboys do not display the strength it takes to get it done. What do I mean? When other teams (say Eagles and Giants) go through rough stretches, they have the leadership in coaching, front office and player to ride it out and come back. How many times have we written the Birds off only to see them rally and make a run? That does not happen here.

Our team makeup does not have that intestinal fortitude. When players are not held accountable because a.) your coach is a figurehead, or b.) you can go over his head to the big BOSS, that is not a good thing. Heck, I haven't even mentioned who controls the draft.

Think about that in your work lives. What if you are a manager and your employees go over head, you have no power nor command any respect.

What we also witnessed yesterday is the end of the Wade Phillips regime. As I have stated before, I have viewed 2009 as a transition year. They will run more and put less pressure on Romo. In theory it sounds good, but Romo has not been great this year. I still think he can improve (better than the dark ages of 2000-2005) and am willing to give him through 2010. He needs a QB coach that can work with him and make him capable of realizing his full potential.

So they will win some games this year and lose others. They are not a playoff team. The Cowboys are more pretenders than anything else. 2010 will bring about some new coaches and players, but if nothing changes at the top, expect the same old same old.

I would love to be wrong about them but I don't think I am.

Stop living for the nineties. It was a long, long time ago.

Message to all Cowboy fans...........There is no escaping this.

I don't care what you're expectations were or what they've been lowered to.

If this team doesn't achieve significant post season success we are all going to feel PAIN!

PAIN PAIN PAIN.........and MISERY!

Oh.......and I forgot humiliation. Other fans will mock us and kick dirt in our face!

Simply put, we're only 4 games in and there are 12 games to go. If I'm not mistaken, San Diego was 4 and 8 with December games left to play and they ran the table last year to squeak into the playoffs. The 2009-2010 season is not even to that point yet.

I'm mad and disgusted at what I witnessed yesterday from my favorite team. I do expect better from the Cowboys and yes, the sun will rise again in Big D. How much better will the team play in the future, moderately or extremely, is yet to be witnessed. I am not looking to jump into the well over the last two losses and I don't want to see any knee jerk reactions by the Cowboy front office because those kind of reactions are reserved for teams like the Redskinks, Brownies, and the Lambs.

I'm going to reserve final judgement like I have for the last several years until that last magical month of December. Keep your hopes up ladies and gents.

I was very angry after the terrible losses in the last game at Texas Stadium and then the Eagles molestation but i decided to stay the course and stay upbeat for 2009 with the new stadium and all.

I'm very angry again. Nohing to do but just sit back and watch now but i have a sinking feeling.

lol at turning in fan cards because we don't think our team is a playoff contender. This team still has the same losers and coaches that allowed a beatdown in our Texas stadium closing and loss in our new stadium opening. Not to mention 44-6. Ya those losers are still here. I don't expect them to all of a sudden grow some balls and become the NY Giants.

That's not what I'm saying at all. People can lower thier expectations all they want. In fact that not something you can actually control.
Your expectations are high or thier not. And who could not expect less going forward after this past month.

What I am saying is that there truely is no escape. Sorry to hear it. If you're a fan you're feeling PAIN!

All you can do is hope for the best because only success will ease the PAIN.

People feel the way they feel. I just happen to think this team has the talent and capable of playing better football. I expect them to get their act together and show it. We are 2-2 not close to playing what I feel they are capable of doing unlike some I think they can and will get this thing going. For those who feel different so be it. I'm not going to spend my time telling people how they should feel.

We need some leaders....

So far it looks like Brookings and Barber are the only ones that care....

but then again....if you whine too much on the sidelines.....someone might just peg you as a cancer.

This team star players.....Romo..Ware ...Newman...have to be leaders...but then again....he has to come within.....and maybe they dont have the ability to be one.

Broad generalizations are fun.

As it is the team needs to play better ball starting this week vs the chiefs or we may well end up 7-9/8-8

Dooms, this team is 12-12 in its last 24 games. At some point one has to accept that this team is what its record says that it is.

You know, every year there is a team that is mired at 5-5 or so around mid season and runs off a string of games to get into the playoffs and make some noise.

The Cowboys don't look like a team that is going to threaten anyone, but at the same time they have a lot of talented players are just a few plays from being 4-0.

I'm not optimistic about the wide receivers suddenly getting open all the time or Romo hitting them every time they are, which are two things that have to improve for this team to do anything. Nevertheless, I think it's too early to write the season off unless being right and saying "I told you so" is more important to you than objective analysis.

Not too worried, our top two R Bs were out as well as our #1 WR ,bad play calling and bad breaks .Romo was off his game . If O U can win the rest of the yr in college with two early losses ,i like our chances.
We make the playoffs and do well ,This team will be better...

Week 2 sounded like week 4. Pretty soon it will be week 8 and then 12 and then you get the rest. Things need to be done now, pronto and period.....

This team never plays a complete game equally on offense, defense and special teams. Absolutely never!!!

Funny because OU has one of the best coaches and QB's in college football to tally up such a seasonal comeback.

We almost had 1 of those distinctions regarding Romo and the NFL but that is obviously not the case anymore.

Yeah, there is going to be more pain. Best defensive player in the league, and after 4 games, not a sniff at a sack. Must be the scheme. Who devised the scheme?
