People around the water cooler came up with this.

1. In the off-season seek a trade with the Browns.:

They get Dak
Dallas gets their 1st and 3rd
They get nothing else from Dallas.

They get what Jimmy Johnson thinks should have been the 1st over-all pick at a 4th round price. Dallas gets the future.

2. Romo returns to being the starter for a couple of years.

3. Dallas drafts - with the 1st over-all - a quarterback to sit and learn from Romo.

4. Dallas builds a defense with teeth, a replacement for Free, and a WR to cause Dez to stay interested.

I know this will get murdered here, but what do you think?

Is this thread for real? Why would we trade Dak for a 1st round pick to use on a QB?

Too many moving parts and unknown variables.

Holy moly.

So basically, trade Dak for a QB we hope will be like Dak, plus a third-round pick? Cleveland would crawl all the way to Dallas for that trade.

It would be, Dak for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd next year, plus a 1st in 2018, and a 2nd in 2019. Now, we can have a conversation.

The QB class this year is terrible. There isn't a guy worth the 10th pick in the draft let alone the 1st overall pick.

This isn't much better than your Joe Montana comparison.

If I do anything like that its because I've seen Romo and realize that was in fact a freak injury and he's good to go for a few more years and I turn around and draft Myles Garrett and off we go. That would actuallly be awesome to see, lol.

Or because despite overwhelming evidence for some reason (practice I assume) you think Dak is a flash in the pan and really isn't all that accurate and realize over time he's not a certain thing.

I wouldn't do it just because Romo is so old. If Romo were say 32 - I'm in.

You have what appears to be a Franchise QB and you want to trade him. I don't get it
