People around the water cooler came up with this.
1. In the off-season seek a trade with the Browns.:
They get Dak
Dallas gets their 1st and 3rd
They get nothing else from Dallas.
They get what Jimmy Johnson thinks should have been the 1st over-all pick at a 4th round price. Dallas gets the future.
2. Romo returns to being the starter for a couple of years.
3. Dallas drafts - with the 1st over-all - a quarterback to sit and learn from Romo.
4. Dallas builds a defense with teeth, a replacement for Free, and a WR to cause Dez to stay interested.
I know this will get murdered here, but what do you think?
You have some ignorant ****s at your workplace.
However, for ***** and giggles, if you were going to trade Dak he arguably has the most value he ever would, higher than any first pick coming into a draft because he already has shown he is an NFL QB. It isn't ifs and buts with Dak, so the deals that the Commanders gave up for RGKnee and the deal that the Eagles gave up for Wentz would be the starting points.
The Eagles gave up a high first, a high third rounder and fourth rounder in the current year, , a high first rounder next year and a high second next year. All that for Carson Wentz. They did get a 4th rounder next year back.
The Commanders gave up a high first, a high second, next year's first and the following year's first.
So, it would be a joke to get only a first and a third. You would have to get the Browns first and second this year, their first the next year and their first the following year. That would still leave Cleveland with their second #1 this year but gives them their franchise QB. Anything less wouldn't even be close. The one thing is they get their franchise QB for a song money and cap wise so they could invest in a couple significant free agents.
