A lot of these are the same folks pegging Dallas for ten-plus in previous seasons, only to come up short. Such is life when trying to forecast these things.

Not going to be too hard on them.....................look at the season prediction thread on this site................90% of the members had the Cowboys with a losing record also.

The NFL is hard to predict or else we would all be millionaires, compliments of Vegas.

Bubba Perdgrin (Mike and MIKE) thought 11-5. He's a Cowboy Homer so there is that but it looks like he's going to win that bet with Golic.

Doesn't Golic have to do something silly if the Cowboys get 11 wins? I heard he had a bet with a Cowboy fan he works with.

The bet was 11 wins AND make the playoffs. The payoff is Golic has to send Bubba to a Cowboys playoff game. The debate is what happens if the Cowboys reach 11 wins but don't make the playoffs. Greeny says Golic still has to pay the bet, just send Bubba to any playoff game. Golic says the bet was inclusive of a Dallas playoff game, but if the Cowboys don't make it, he doesn't have to send him to a playoff game.

I don't know if Golic will pay the bet if the Cowboys win 11 yet miss the playoffs. Fortunately, he has to pay because both will happen.

Howard Davis of SiriusXM was talking to a caller before the season and said there was no possible way that the Cowboys would have a better record than the Giants at the end of the season. He then said 'how much you wanna bet?' And then talked about '1 million dollars.' To the caller's credit, he took up David on the offer and said there's just no way that the Cowboys won't be better than the Giants.

Personally, I had the team at 6-10.

I don't have a problem with those that doubted Dallas as they had plenty of reason to do so. I just don't like it when 'analysts' try to be so definitive that there was no possible way the Cowboys could go to the playoffs. It's not like we were Jacksonville (you can also call out Keyshawn Johnson for claiming Dallas was the 'worst team in the league' after the loss to SF).

I didn't expect this either. Just glad it is happening. I wouldn't call any one out on it though.

If he has learned something, then his first three years weren't wasted.

Sorry but any season when we should have made the playoffs but didn't due to coaching issues like game / clock management mistakes in more than one game(at least two a season????) is a wasted season in my book. This did not happen one or two years, but THREE seasons in a row and that does not count us losing win or go home games to end EACH of the last three season against division rivals (which would have nullified the game/clock management gaffes earlier in those seasons if the coach could have motivated the team to a win which he did not). Sorry, like I said, I call them like I see them. Even if Garrett is doing much better this season it does not excuse his own personal mistakes that cost us the playoffs not one, not two , but THREE seasons in a row. I certainly HOPE he learned something from all those mistakes he made.

Hope you feel better, now. Since everything that happened in the last three years was Garrett's fault, then I guess everything that has happened this year is to his credit. Using your logic, I guess that means he's getting a lot better.

I'm a nobody but you can add me to that list. I'm sure I predicted 8-8. I still can't believe we won't be.
