His name is Chris Kuper. Take a look at him. Look him up. He's nowhere near a household name, but frankly, he's really, really good. His size and ZBS versatility, agility, and strength would fit our offensive line to a T.

08/13/13 - OL Chris Kuper unexpectedly returned to practice Tuesday, armed with a restructured contract and prepared for a battle to reclaim a regular role on a reshaped line. "I'm just trying to earn a spot on the roster now," Kuper said. "The main thing is I have to get healthy enough to be able to compete for that spot." Kuper is on the physically unable to perform list as he continues to recover from offseason surgery to help heal the ankle that he fractured on Jan. 1, 2012 and reinjured 10 months later in the season finale at Cincinnati. Kuper's long-time spot at right guard now belongs to free-agent signee Louis Vasquez. "He has been a captain in my tenure here and I know he is well respected in the locker room," coach John Fox said. "He is the kind of guy we are looking to have on our football team. Unfortunately for us and him, he has been injured and hopefully we can get him back out of that mode." He was scheduled to earn $4.5 million in 2013 but agreed to restructure to $1.05 million guaranteed with another $1.7 million in play-time bonuses. Kuper's surgery was the second on the ankle he first dislocated in the 2011 regular-season finale. He was limited to seven games last season and suffered injuries to his ankle and forearm and encountered a brief battle with migraines. His first practice Tuesday might be an indication of where Kuper fits into the team's plans. The Broncos shuffled their offensive line because of injuries to J.D. Walton and Dan Koppen, signing Ryan Lilja out of retirement to help fill the void at the interior line spots. Kuper worked as a center, snapping the ball to Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler, but he'll also get work as a backup to Zane Beadles and Vasquez. "We will look at it," Fox said. "Guys have that flexibility. Inside people usually have center/guard flex and then you have people that have guard/tackle flex. When we pick our seven (active linemen) for the game on the 46 (-man roster), we'll have a swin

You probably shouldn't use that word.

Not only because you could seriously offend someone, but you can't even spell it.

Ironic. ;)

Please use the phrase Developmentally F'ing Delayed.

By F'ing, I mean Freaking.

Something like this you mean?

John Moffitt acquired by Browns from Seahawks

The Cleveland Browns have made a move to address the injuries hitting at the interior of their offensive line.

The team acquired guard/center John Moffitt from the Seattle Seahawks on Monday in exchange for defensive lineman Brian Sanford.

Read the rest here:

Yeah.

That was the trade to be had.

Browns got him for a bag of chips.

Where were we on that one?

We should have taken a look at Moffit in Seattle. They just traded him to Cleveland and is projected to start at rg for them.

I don't know if any of you keep up much with the rest of the NFL, but I have a few teams I pay more attention to than the rest of the drab out there. Of course, the Cowboys are far and away "my team".

However, I also enjoy watching the Colts and the Broncos, seeing as they're not usually concerning opponents for my Cowboys.

There is a little known backup guard on the Denver Broncos roster that is head and shoulders above what we currently are fielding.

His name is Chris Kuper. Take a look at him. Look him up. He's nowhere near a household name, but frankly, he's really, really good. His size and ZBS versatility, agility, and strength would fit our offensive line to a T.

We'd need to offer some nice bait to pry him away. I'd venture to say he's the best backup interior lineman in the NFL. Yes, I'm serious.

Right now, the Cowboys depth at WR is pretty awesome. I'm pretty sure that if either Demaryius Thomas or Eric Decker fall to injury, the Broncos wouldn't really want to be fielding Andre Caldwell or Tavarres King as a serious threat.

Miles Austin for Chris Kuper.

The Cowboys can win a Super Bowl without Miles Austin.

They can't win a Super Bowl without a solid offensive line.

Just do it.

you just got hosed with that trade offer. Austin is a starter. had close to a 1000 yards last year. so you are trading a starting reciever for a back up guard. seriously!!! if you offerd rosario or harris or somebody like that I could understand. but austin!!! for a back up guard!!!

You know SEA made an inquiry if they were shopping the guy in a trade. It's widely known we were looking for a veteran at that spot. It's a pretty safe assumption we weren't interested in that particular player or, if we did have any interest, it wasn't enough interest to beat what CLE was offering.

Either way, I'm not losing sleep over missing out on the Moffit sweepstakes. There will be players of his caliber available during cutdowns if we really want one.

Or Tanner. He'd be some good trade bait right about now. That way you have Murray, Dunbar, Randle and a new guard--not too bad.

Unless we have another back in mind to replace Tanner, I think that would be a terrible idea. Neither Dunbar or Randle can run it up between the tackles and take a pounding if needed. I think both would end up on the DL if it came to that. Randle had not learned to run behind his pads and deliver a blow rather then just take the hits and Dunbar is just too small to be able to do that. Great change of pace guy or a back out of the backfield that can make you pay but not an everydown back if it came to it. With Murray's history, I don't think you can take that chance. JMO.

Not even if we got a serviceable guard in exchange?
