you just got hosed with that trade offer. Austin is a starter. had close to a 1000 yards last year. so you are trading a starting reciever for a back up guard. seriously!!! if you offerd rosario or harris or somebody like that I could understand. but austin!!! for a back up guard!!!

Didn't you know Terrance Williams is a lock to make up that 1,000 yds? His 1 preseason catch thus far proves it.

Shoot me now.

Not even if we got a serviceable guard in exchange?

I think "serviceable guard" for a starting WR in this league would be lopsided.

Besides, why on earth would Denver want to inherit Austin's incredibly bad contract when they already have a stacked stable of WRs, including the best slot receiver in the game? Would they take Jay Ratliff too? If that were the case, I might think about it if I could clear the cap room thanks to their incompetence.

How bout not. Top 15 WR for a backup at G. Retarted. I'd rather Romo have targets.

This, and I like the point of if Thomas or Decker go down, as if they don't have Welker.........What would Miles be their 4th.........sometimes I can't stand how Jerry runs this team then I see some fans like the original poster and realize that it could be worse

Something like this you mean?

John Moffitt acquired by Browns from Seahawks

The Cleveland Browns have made a move to address the injuries hitting at the interior of their offensive line.

The team acquired guard/center John Moffitt from the Seattle Seahawks on Monday in exchange for defensive lineman Brian Sanford.

Read the rest here:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000231815/article/john-moffitt-acquired-by-browns-from-seahawks

Why cant Jerry and Stephen do these things? Moffitt is very young and talented, big upside and potential. We could have used him in a big way. Was one of he guys i wanted a couple years back... Ugh!!! We just sit on our thumbs and watch the world go by when it comes to this OLine. I don't get it. Aren't they supposed to be turning over every stone to improve this team any way they can? Isn't that their jobs?

Hes so talented and full of potential that he is on the verge of completely busting.

I understand the desire for a serviceable guard but I don't know that Tanner would bring that and again, as I said earlier, if we decided to make a move with Tanner, we would still need to bring in another Back that could step in to play for Murray IMO. If you move Tanner, that guy is not on the roster.

I get your point. I just think we have too many backs.

We do. I don't see the point of carrying 4 of them. Tanner's got the least of the trade value, though. He's the sort of player teams eyeball if they're in the market for a backup in case he gets cut. I think we'd have to dangle Randle if we wanted to get anything of value in a trade. We won't, but that's what I'd consider doing if Tanner continues to play well. Randle and a 6th might get you a young OG capable of starting from the right team.

lol. TWillaims replacing Ausitn for the Cowboys in the starting lineup. What part of "Terrance Williams is a lock to make up that 1,000 yds?" did you not understand?

Duh. Drunk, that's the least of your probs reading.

ok, you have to be drunk. I said to the original poster. you just got HOSED in the trade. sending a starting WR with almost a 1000 yards last year. for a back up guard. why do that!!!!!

and you read that as I agree with the trade!!!
you have to be drunk. nothing else explains your responses.....

I don't know if any of you keep up much with the rest of the NFL, but I have a few teams I pay more attention to than the rest of the drab out there. Of course, the Cowboys are far and away "my team".

However, I also enjoy watching the Colts and the Broncos, seeing as they're not usually concerning opponents for my Cowboys.

There is a little known backup guard on the Denver Broncos roster that is head and shoulders above what we currently are fielding.

His name is Chris Kuper. Take a look at him. Look him up. He's nowhere near a household name, but frankly, he's really, really good. His size and ZBS versatility, agility, and strength would fit our offensive line to a T.

We'd need to offer some nice bait to pry him away. I'd venture to say he's the best backup interior lineman in the NFL. Yes, I'm serious.

Right now, the Cowboys depth at WR is pretty awesome. I'm pretty sure that if either Demaryius Thomas or Eric Decker fall to injury, the Broncos wouldn't really want to be fielding Andre Caldwell or Tavarres King as a serious threat.

Miles Austin for Chris Kuper.

The Cowboys can win a Super Bowl without Miles Austin.

They can't win a Super Bowl without a solid offensive line.

Just do it.

This may draw booes and naysayers, but the only current Dallas Cowboys player that has both trade value and is somewhat expendable is Jason Witten. He might actually be able to attract a Guard who is starting quality plus a pick or two. I like Witten and what he represents, but I don't think he's really that much of a difference maker when it comes to the Cowboys win/loss ratio. Meanwhile, our offensive line will be. Behind him is James Hannah/Gavin Escobar and company. I know the Cowboys are looking to use Witten more this year, but if they are really desperate for a Guard, I think it's at least worthy of consideration.

The prorated bonus money stays with the original team and accelerates into the cap immediately after a trade. They don't get rid of the "bad" part of the contract.

Any of you have any offensive or defensive line backups you like on the Steelers? They lost rookie Le'Veon Bell for the next 6 or 8 weeks with a Lisfranc injury, and their other backs (Jonathan Dwyer, Isaac Redman and LaRod Stephens-Howling) aren't overly impressive. Philip Tanner would fit perfectly into what they do in the run game, and he looks to be the odd man out if we only keep 3 RB's, so it might makes sense.

Tanner is not any better than any of the backs you named.

various:
1. player trades seldom happen unless they are bottom of the roster types because of the way the cap hits work.
2. miles is already restructured so he's not going anywhere.
3. we do NOT have too many backs. we need 3 for game days and having 4 when the ones we have are hardly emmitt for durability is simply smart. --especially with a rookie who is pretty clueless right now
4. Moffitt has been terrible. He's basically Arkin according to PFF metrics. As a FA we'd look at hi because we are so weak at OG but he isn't a serious trade target.
5. I would be all for trading Scandrick if Webb and Moore were playing stellar ball thus far but that's FAR from the case.
6. If you closely follow other teams regularly you aren't a Cowboys fan, you an NFL fan. Nothing wrong with that btw, but might as well acknowledge it.

Lol, I swear, some of you don't think an idea is good unless its yours.

Miles Austin was an example.

Eh, whatever. I'm just sick of seeing a sieve of an offensive line.
