Aaron Donald is who this board wants?

I think Donald is a good fit.. However I think there is a chance that a better player could be there at 16.. I would be happy with Donald though because he fits perfectly into the scheme and would be an impact player day 1.. One negative about Donald is that he is extremely scheme specific so if we were to switch to a 3-4 ever again or a different variation of the 4-3 it could render him useless.

Players that could possibly still be there at 16 that are BETTER PLAYERS than Donald.

Mike Evans (WR, Texas A&M)
Khalil Mack (OLB, Buffalo)
Anthony Barr (OLB, UCLA)
Ha'Sean Clinton Dix (FS, Alabama)

Taylor Lewan (OT, Michigan)
Marqise Lee (WR, USC)

So all in all I think there is a chance to get a better player than Donald at 16 but I wouldn't be mad at the pick at all.. As long as they don't reach and take a guy like Kony Ealy or Dee Ford at 16 I will be ok.

Lewan and Evans are great trade bait.
The pick is Donald or a trade back

I would be completely shocked if Mack was available at 16

All of the mocks I am seeing show Mack in top 12. He will not be there for us at 16. Mosley may have a better chance of being there at 16 but that also may be unlikely. I would be happy with Donald, Mosley, Martin (OL), Prior. In that order.

We need a much better, more dominant one tech for him to succeed. And we better hope ware stys and commands doubles a well. Do NOT expect this guy to come in and get anything like hatchers productin last year. He wont do. And its also possible we get gashed up the gut

I simply don't believe in drafting for need.
Draft for talent.
If need fits talent- so much the better, but the draft is something that should be held above need- for the most part.

Maybe not in the 1st round. I think in the first you should take the best player available and usually teams take the best player available at a position of need.

The 2nd round down though I think you have to pass on guys like Escobar and draft guys like Benny Logan regardless of what your board says.

IF you know a DT can play and you are incredibly lack @ DT then the Cowboys should probably take the DT over a RB.

I guess it really just depends from player to player.

I'd take a trade down in the first round, too add a 3rd pick, drafting Pryor along the way.

Just looking for the consensus of who this board wants to draft. Aaron Donald seems to fall to us in most of the mock drafts.

I would say yes as we stand today with the assumption that we can't keep hatcher and won't go after Melton. But I think this team can't go wrong adding a great players at almost any spot.

Would like in 1st 3 rounds, DL, DL, S or LB in any order, but preferably DL in the 1st round. But if the BPA is an OG, then take him in the 3rd.
Donald or Ealy, if he drops
Shazier [doubt he drops that far in the 2nd to us]
Sutton if we don't get Donald, Jeffcoat a possibility too

donald or pryor would be awesome.

donald is cat quick like sapp

pryor is a dying breed of safety who likes to light people up with clean ,hard hits.

reminds me of roy back when roy was roy.

pryor and church could be very fun to watch..

I can see that Pryor hits hard, but 90 percent of those hits are shoulder shots, no wrap up, no technique. I can't see him trying that on NFL players and getting away with it, and not getting injured.

depends on who falls to 16 or starts falling out of the top 10 for jj to go get.

Personally ...
1. Donald
2. Hageman

Who i think jerry wants:
1. Manziel
2. Evans
3. a TE
4. D line to placate the masses.

I somewhat like this idea but that leaves me very worried about our DL. If we let Ware go that is another hole that needs filled. I'd rather not see another season of revolving door DL's each week.

I'm open to just about anything except WR and RB. If we're looking for a 3-Tech, there is no better one in this draft than Donald and it'll take a first rounder to get him.

Much like last year, I'm not so obsessed with where we take a guy so much as making sure we get the right guy.

Whatever we take ... we HAVE to hit in rounds 1 and 2. If we don't and start reaching for perennially hurt players we will never get outta this 8-8 hole. And we need to start looking for players in rounds 3-7 and quit taking flyers on guys and them not making the team.

i dont want a superstar draft i want a good solid draft with players who can actually play and fill holes on this team.

I would love to have Donald but main thing I want to see is Dallas addressing the defense. Only offense I would be interested in getting is more help along the OL. In my view Dallas has good weapons at WR and RB, while OL showed major improvement does not mean we can't improve up front. Main thing however is Defense.

Donald rd 1
Prior rd 2
Manziel rd 3

Johnny Football is going to be gone before Pryor. And Pryor may be gone before Donald. And not one of those three is getting out of the 1st round.
