He is a good fit for only certain teams ahead of us. The Bears are one. Who are the others?
Chicago is the biggest legitimate threat that has shown interest so far. Everyone keeps thinking Jernigan for them, but he is a one-tech and they need that three. Tampa Bay likes him too, but I think seven is too rich, they might want to move down. Zimmer might see him as his Geno Atkins. Giants are a wildcard, but they have other needs.

I could see the GIants grabbing Martin, the Rams grabbing Evans, and then the Bears grabbing Donald right before our pick. Trading down looks like a good option in that scenario.

only 15 guys can go before we pick. gonna be hard to take all the qb's, ots, wr's and take all the top dt's before we pick. if he goes as the top dt then someone else willhhave to fall

It seems like Donald has blown up too quickly. Great for him, sucks for us. However, there's a lot of hype being spread around regarding the offensive side of the ball. People have been saying the OT, WR are the strongest class it has been in years. You can also add in the fact that you will have teams reach for QBs. Lets just hope for an early run on offensive players.

So far the consensus top DTs from what I have been reading are in no order: Nix, Jerrigan and Donald. Nix being the "big" NT type of DT. He is not really a scheme fit so the better he shows up in the combine the better it is for us. I believe we will have our shot at Donald as long as he is not the 1st DT taken. The Bears are the obvious worry.

I like the player but I would not give up a choice to get him. Been there with Claiborne and that still smarts.

I agree. He is a very good prospect but not a warren sapp type guy. Love to have him at 16 but not trading up.

If somebody takes him in the top 15 then so be it but we should not force any picks here.

That is pretty much what we need to do unfortunately. We cannot give up any choices. We need too many bodies all over the place. We are not a player away.

This person is not thinking deep enough. They may need a good 3-technique, but not every team is going to risk a first round choice on a player that does not fit their prototype. Donald is not just a 3-technique that you can plug in anywhere that needs one.

Speed wasn't the question for this player. Wake me when his arms get longer.

I would be more interested to see who might take Donald or Ford after 16, really don't see but one DT going before and that would be to Chicago depending on what they do in free agency. Still have my doubts on how good a pro either Donald or Ford will be. A lot of hype but not many short DTs make it in the league for long. Would feel much better if we traded down and got them in the 23-30 range or better yet the second round.

Every year this or that player wont be there, and every year players drop and surpise players get picked.

Could be blessing in disguise if guy like Mosely is there instead. I think Jerry has in mind to re-sign Hatcher.

I like Beckham a lot but I would literally die if we selected a WR in the first round with our problems defensively plus our O-line needing interior improvement. I have no desire to draft Evans.
