I don't care HOW much Mayock and all the 'experts' like him..he's undersized and I am not impressed. Unlike most in here, I watched him play a few times the last few years: didn't impress against good teams like N.Dame

Put Donald in a Cowboys uniform.

IF he's there at 16 you can book it. I'll be ecstatic too...

Bill Polian which I trust more than the other "experts" loves him. Said if you are tampa 2 d like Dallas hes a perfect 3 tech. People say hes underzied but 3 tech doenst require some huge fat guy. lol its about getting off the ball and getting to the qb. He does that.

Are you sure your watching the right player? I've watched most of his 2013 games and he is pretty consistant in what he does. The consensus among experts and fans are that his tape and production is outstanding.

I would be alright with d-line, o-line, LB, or S in the first round as long as the guy is complete stud.

I'd rather have an elite safety than a pretty good d-lineman. You can get the pretty goods in later rounds.

Well, Donald wasn't a "pretty good d-lineman" at Pitt. He was a multiple award winning, dynamic 3 technique DT who fits the defense Dallas runs to a Tee. He isn't a "pretty good" prospect, he is an exceptional prospect if you run the defense Dallas runs. He fits what Marinelli wants out of his 3-tech perfectly, and plays a position that is the most important one in Dallas' defense.

Sure, he's perfect for this defense. I don't doubt he could come in here and play well. But I look at the bigger picture. I hate this scheme. Drafting a one dimensional fit like Donald would only more firmly entrench us in this scheme. That's why I want no part of Donald in this draft.

Freaking this. He's, in a sense, too good of a fit. The scheme sucks.

The scheme isn't the problem, it's the players. Nobody could have turned our group of injured players, journeyman, and misfits into anything more than a poor defense. It does not matter what scheme you run if you have good players that play hard.

Donald will be long gone by 16. He'll never get past Chicago at the latest.

And I didn't list Donald as a "pretty good" player.

My bad. When you said "I'd rather have an elite safety than a pretty good d-lineman.", I thought you were referring to Donald.

I'm referring to anyone. As long as you get a truly elite player, I don't care if it's another tight end. About half the first round never pans out because teams draft need or fall in love with some combine phenom.

Draft elite in round 1, then look more toward need from there. You just hope need and elite are the same dude.
