Ford and donald wont be picked until the end of RD1. Too many players rated higher. Starting to think a player like Mosely and Barr might be the pick listening to Jones on SAM LBer looking for an upgrade, and DL being deep in this draft. His words

Where did he say he wanted to upgrade SAM LBer? I only heard him say it is a dumping ground and that we are deep there.

I would love to have Donald. But, I hope the team doesn't get caught up on drafting one player. That leads to stupid mistakes...like trading up to get him. We have too many holes on this team to fill. Trading up for one player won't help.

If he's gone...then that means another good player has been passed up. We'll be fine.

I like Donald a lot, but there are plenty of players who are making a claim for top 15. You have the 4 QB's, Clowney, Robinson, Martin, Evans, Watkins, Mosely, etc. I'd say there's a good chance he's still there. Some teams will avoid him because of need, scheme, or the fact that he's only 6 feet tall.

Why would Chicago want Donald when they have Ratliff?:)

I guess the world really didn't end when we didn't draft Shariff Floyd last year. Many here were on the ledge ready to jump. I hope they didn't actually take a leap because there is bound to be more fireworks this year. Speaking of Floyd (who, by the way, didn't do jack squat last year), how does Donald compare to him?

This draft is so deep, there are good players into the 4th round. Except for Cooper and Warmack, the rest of the top ten in the 2013 draft class (Fischer, Joekel, Jordan, Johnson, Ansah, Mingo, Austin, Milliner) might not even be first rounders in this year's draft. Let the draft come to you, don't try to get cute or target a certain player. We have so many needs, it doesn't really matter which position we choose. BPA - stick with that strategy.

Why would Chicago want Donald if they already have Melton should be the real question. If Melton were to leave in free agency...then I'm worried if I'm the Cowboys.

I tend to agree with the OP -- not only did Donald run a 4.65 but he benched 35 times. That's a lotta oomph!
If he gets past Pittsburgh, however, we've got a shot at him. He most definitely surpassed my expectations.

This board never thinks the player we are targeting will fall to us. I remember this same conversation going on when we selected Tyron Smith.

Last year, everyone said there was no way 2 OGs would go early and they did, along with a bunch of other OL/DL guys.

Donald would be worth a whole lot in this defense. A disruptive 3-tech makes or breaks it, and he is the very definition of a disruptive 3-tech.

NFL Matches: Dallas, Chicago, Miami, Seattle, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Oakland

There are a lot of teams that could consider Donald in the first two rounds of the 2014 NFL Draft. The highest that he could hope to go would be in the middle to the back half of the first round. There are three teams that could use defensive tackles, and it looks unlikely Donald would fall to their second-round picks, so if any of those three want him, they have to get him with their first selection - or maybe trade down.

The Cowboys badly need a three-technique for Monte Kiffin's Tampa 2, and Donald would be a perfect fit. Defensive line coach Rod Marinelli likes his tackles to be short, quick and thick. Donald fits that to a tee, so landing in Dallas could be the highest hope for Donald.

4.68 40...not too shabby...

If all he had to do was run 40 yards dressed in shorts you'd probably be right.

And he's still under 6 feet one inch with shorter than ideal arm length and no amount of running is going to change that.

So let's wait and see shall we?

P.S. I do like the player and think he'll be good but hate posters guaranteeing stuff like you're doing here.

top 15 picks in no particular order

1. QB
2. QB
3. QB
4. LT Mathews
5. LT Lewan
6. LT Robinson
7. Clowney
8. Watkins
9. Mack
then the next group
10. Barr
11. Mosley
12. Evens
then you watch as Donald will go soon. very soon. Dix, Prior, Donald, Nix, Martin, Cooks, Carr, Beckam, Lee, Gilbert, Ford, Benjamin, Ebron, Jernagin

Most likely Chicago takes Donald at 14.

I would be alright with d-line, o-line, LB, or S in the first round as long as the guy is complete stud.

I'd rather have an elite safety than a pretty good d-lineman. You can get the pretty goods in later rounds.

This is really it.

No need to give up anything extra for Donald. Behind it all people are way too focused on need. I'm no straight BPA proponent, but you can't focus that much on need with your first rounder. It's about talent and talent alone. Then you mix in some of your needs in the following rounds, I believe.

People in here get SO fixated on one guy it's laughable....we need about 8 players on defense guys: Safety, 3 tech DTackle, TWO D.Ends(especially since Ware and SPencer will be gone) CB(again...unreal), LB(again), and more depth across the whole D'...it's a total dumpster fire right now. Our offense isn't great but it's serviceable enough. I'd go HEAVY ON D'....it's a very deep draft and this is what I hope they do.

That's why the Cowboys have their problems. Skipping the meat and potatoes and getting dessert first. While teams like the Giants build from the lines out, Jerry buys overrated 180lb cornerbacks who cost two picks and are always hurt. That one deal will be felt for years. They could have had a quality Dlineman and possibly a starting LB. But we get a top 6 pick CB who's going to be looking to sell his custom painted Cowboy car when he gets cut in a year.
