It is not Pollard. It is the blocking, which has been awful. The do not hold their blocks and they do not get any movement. They are playing super soft this year for some reason. I understand why Steele may be playing a little slow and with less power this year, but Martin and Biadasz have been soft this year too.

We started running the ball with Dowdle in the mix and ended up getting penalties and called back. It’s a back breaker on a drive when you start running for 5 to 10 yards a clip and getting confidence and then end up running a long one on 1st down and called back for a 1st and 20 knowing they are going to stack the line..
Lucky we have the best 3rd down QB in the league to help overcome some, not all, of those.

Dowdle had a nice long run called back on a penalty of course in Philly then he went right back to witness protection mode on the sidelines . See the way Siriani shuttles Swift and Gainwell . I don’t see MM doing it . Pollard might be more effective with a second back sharing the load.

This team desperately needs to get the running game going. The coaching staff is putting too much pressure on Prescott.
Part of it is the coaching staff is unable to get a handle on the pre-snap penalties this is hurting our running game and forcing us to be one dimensional and pass

Its Tony.

His leg was wrecked and he's slow.

His foot was pointing backwards after the leg break.

His YPA is off by one yard.

They have to draft an elite RB in the 2024 draft.

We got scrubs and its killing our ground game.

Everyone can see it.

It is both.

Only if the committee is very talented. With the RBs we have, no, it won't work.

We disagree . Pollard has talent . Dowdle like Malik Davis never given enough reps to do damage . The OL for the most part has been atrocious so all the blame should not go to the RB room .

Instead of a 2nd round TE bolster your OL . You spend a 5 on Asim Richards and Terrence Steele should have been benched for Richards .
Are the Cowboys better off with C McGovern gone to Buffalo and in essence having Steele at tackle moving Tyler Smith inside . I say no .

You're speaking to the wrong poster. I've been very clear several times in this thread that it is both.

Pollard has 2nd RB/3rd down back talent, yes. Catching passes and running outside. He is a high quality complementart back. The other two are simply JAGs. Dowdle runs hard, which causes people to overrate him. He is a carbon copy of Phillip Tanner. He'd make a decent 3rd stringer.

The OL has actually been middle of the pack. Which is not good enough, BTW. Our RB's have mostly been atrocious, partly due to a mundane OL.

Conclusion: It's both. Need upgrades.

Richards has some physical drawbacks which could keep him from being a starter.

Is it called abondoning the run when your down 2 touchdowns midway through the 3rd? The other things is, the cant run block...in this instance "Abandoning the run" runs latterall with "Why are we always in 3rd and long"....run/pass whatever drive the ball and score..

We have severe talent limitations on both the OL and at RB. That's why we're down 2 TDs to begin with.

What drawbacks could he have that would allow MM and Solari not bench Steele and try Richards ? JJ left Chaz Green in a Falcon game and one Falcon racked up 5 sacks , in one game .
