And there is a huge reason why America is falling apart. No one is stopping you from moving back home. Heck, maybe you can be driving to school also.
Naw America is falling apart because of the lost people who don't know their gender and the ones playing alone with this crap. Bad parenting.

Tommy DiVito tells The World, he still lives at home with his parents. His mother makes his meals and his bed.
Surprised his Mom didn't play QB for the Giants to protect her son.
Note: ESPN calls it "Genius"

I have heard similar stories about NFL rookies that are trying to make it and happened to get picked by their hometown teams. Usually it is UDFAs with uncertain futures. This really isn’t uncommon.

From the looks of it, his NFL career may be very short, and as an UDFA on a team as bad as the Giants, you never know when your time is up.

I doubt the kid is a bum like you are making him out to be. He is an NFL player while you are some dude wasting your Monday morning making fun of him.

He stands to make about $350,000 if he stays on the roster until the end of the season. He can certainly afford to make it on his own but chooses not to.

There isn't anything 'genius' about his decision to remain under mamas wing; it would make more sense if he was unemployed or only making about $10k a year, though. But he is making some really good money. Eventually he is going to catch enough flak from his peers telling him to grow the hell up.
I call them the "parents basement generation."

He's the third backup in NY and his parents live 7 miles from the stadium.. He's not permenant, he'd probably play for free.. NY rent is how much, 8k a month for a studio? Smart to me.. Anywhere else in America, sure..

I believe Purdy lives with a teammate or two in one of the highest home markets in N CA, like DeVito in NY/NJ. Can’t say I blame them. Purdy will most likely get a mansion soon enough. DeVito? Most likely not

Odds are DeVito next year will be trying to make the squad of another NFL team, and be on the practice squad if he's lucky.
He is more than likely going to be one of the Not For Long players in the NFL. Not trying to be a dick, but it's a reality for a lot of players.

One thing if he was a high draft pick, or got a big guarantee or was thought of as the future in NYC. He's playing only cause the first two guys are out.
NHL players also will spend their first few years with an established player family/house. Of course in the NHL there's more language/cultural barriers potentially at first.

Probably should of kept the part about laundry/food out of the quote, but staying home even with a good salary compared to the "normal world" is a smart thing to do.
Especially when they are that close to the stadium. It's not like it's a 4hr commute or he begged his parents to uproot to Jersey.

It was only in recent decades that the extended family was discouraged for nefarious reasons. Most of world history featured extended families living on homesteads generation after generation.

The Waltons used to be how it was and it was better for everyone except the people with nefarious reasons that later destroyed this concept.

The wife can get an apartment. I'm going to stay with mom and dad.
Lol.

My wife moved back to take care of her mother when her mother's health was failing. I tried to get her to come stay with us but she wanted to be in her own house, which I do not blame her. My wife did a great job with her mama. She did this for 3 years. I worked 48-60 hours to take care of her and her mother. She was a loving gracious lady. I miss her every day.

One day, Tommy DeVito will get fed up with his current living arrangement and break out into spontaneous song...

...KICK IT!

Man, living at home is such a drag!

Now my mom threw away my best porno mag!

BUST IT!

You gotta fight!

For your right!

To par-TAY!

Paaaaaaar-TAY!

Paaaaaaar-TAY!

Yeah. For those who are young and do not get the reference, you are right. I am old. :)
