Your main premise is that its disrespectful to call him Adam. That's ridiculous. He was called Adam in court. You think that the judge was disrespectful?
Here's why your court example is off-base.
In a court of law, you conform to what the judge wants. You dress a certain way, you speak a certain way, and you generally act a certain way.
In other words, the judge is above you. You have to kiss his butt because it's your keester on the line, and he/she dictates your future.
He isn't kissing anyone's butt (other than maybe Roger Goodell's) outside of court. So outside of court, it's a completely different situation.
He prefers Pacman, and he's gone by Pacman for as long as any of us have heard of the guy.
How you can believe calling someone by their legal name is disrespectful is beyond me.
It's disrespectful because it goes against his wishes. He's made it crystal clear that he prefers his nickname as his first name. It's just that simple.
"Hey Adam!"
"Actually, I go by Pacman."
"Okay, Adam, whatever you say!"
You don't see any semblance of disrespect there? Really?
I think it's a stupid nickname. Nothing I've seen him do even remotely reminds me of Pacman. I didn't watch him attack a bottle when he was an infant. I'll call him what I want.
Be perfectly honest here, please.
Do you call him Adam Jones? If so, how long have you referred to him as Adam and not Pacman? Did you start
BEFORE his legal troubles in the NFL began?
What if he wanted you to call him pretty or precious or lover boy? I don't know about you, but I'm not doing that.
This isn't a nickname he spontaneously came up with at the height of his egotism. He's held it his entire life, and for all we know he's always treated it as his first name, and
NOT simply as a nickname.
Now it's arrogant fans. Those poor, poor teachers. ~sigh!~
He's been Pacman Jones to all of us for as long as we've heard of the guy. But by all means, keep spinning away.
