According to Jerry--NO WR at #22.

He actually said WR in the first would be plausible because you can use different WRs in different packages. So someone like a Bowe or a Jarrett or a Ginn would be contributing as a starter from time to time throughout the season which what he wants out of a 1st rounder. He did also say "talking out of both sides of his mouth" that he could also see WR in the 2nd or 3rd as well.

That's part of what I meant about not knowing what he said.

You can look at the roster and make some good inferences. But when you add Jerry to the recipe then it gets cloudly again.

I really think Jerry will do relatively well this year.

yeah, it sure does sound like he's talking about CJ, haha, and yeah, that price is to high for me to. I've heard Denver is willing to offer Detroit their 1st, 2nd, 3rd and next years 1st if CJ is there at number 2... that's insane
:laugh1:

I believe a WR in 3rd round is very likely unless we snatch Sidney Rice for example in 2nd.

Sorry, but that's an ensemble performance at Commanders Park. Snyder is but one of many, and he's wise enough to bring along people who know what they're talking about. Conversely, Jerry's egomaniacal, cat-n-mouse act was solo. And the fact that you would resurrect a long dead thread makes you, well, deranged.

Sorry, but he gets no "pass" for calling himself a GM. Even Brainpaint noted that yesterday's lovefest was a pointless exercise. The fact remains that it's exceedingly rare for an NFL owner to conduct pre-draft press conferences. Why? Because most of them don't know jack about personnel--our guy especially. I seem to recall naming three other owners; get thee to Google, chump.

I wouldn't be opposed to trading down IF we are able to get Sidney Rice WR and Merriweather FS/Houston CB in the second and still get a player like Bazuin DE in the third.

he is the GM like it or not, and him doing the same thing other owners and GMs, coaches etc are doing and giving a pre draft press conference is not wrong and does not make him any of those names you called him. Face facts bb you got spanked on this by acting all high and mighty instead of actually doing research.

It is not rare at all for GMs or coaches to hold pre draft PC's saying it over and over does notg make you correct it makes you wrong multiple times.

Why should I continue to make you look like an *** you cant even bring yourself to admit you were wrong "chump"

But by all means spin away

Yeah, like Skylar Green

Nobody should equate the talent that Ginn has to Green as a WR or KR.

Maybe if Green had tied a NCAA record for TD returns on Punts and Kickoffs then we could talk.

Or even if he could come close as a WR.

So what? That makes him immune from criticism? He can do no wrong? His serial screwups and grandstanding are to be ignored? Go shill somewhere else.

Dude, what is your beef with jerry?

Who cares if he has a pre-draft talk, at #22 he can say anything he wants and it will have little to no effect on the way the draft unfolds. The 21 teams picking if front of us kinda determine that.

The bottom line is Jerry owns the team, period. Does this make him immune from criticism? Of course not. However it does give him the right to say whatever he dam well pleases.

Is he blowing smoke?

Probably not. It's not like there is a lot of intrigue with the 22nd selection.

OK, so if we don't select a WR... What's your guess? Spencer the DE/OLB from Purdue? Staley the offensive tackle (I don't see this one happening)? The FS/CB from Miami? Ross the CB from Texas? Griffin the safety from Texas? Revis if he's there?

So scratching WR from the list what's your best guess?
My top three guesses:
1A. Brandon Meriweather - FS/CB, Miami
1B. Jarvis Moss - OLB/DE, Florida
1C. Michael Griffin - FS, Texas

*(Reggie Nelson - FS/CB, Florida would be my top choice BUT I don't think he'll be around w/ our 22nd overall pick...)

That he's a terrible GM and a major impediment to success. Hardly a minority opinion outside of these boards.

No effect? Then what was the purpose?

Pretty sure I have the same right. Let me check my pocket Constitution.
