Oh really? As they say in the news biz, let's go to the tape:

bbgun: "Who would be stupid, vain, and arrogant enough to hold a pre-draft press conference? Snyder? Nope. Kraft? Nope. Lurie? Nope. Bidwell? Nope, not even him. Jerrah? Um ..."

Hmmm. No mention of the word "team," which makes you a colossal liar and cheapshot artist. Same old, same old.

"Patriots" not the same as "Bob Kraft." Got it, Gomer? Nor do you get a pass if you're a self-appointed GM like Jerrah.

Or maybe you can save us some trouble by taking reading lessons. I'll PM you some adult literacy pamphlets later on.

Oh so what you are saying is you were making an insult where it was impossib le for Jerry to win? See the people who actually do the personell stuff do the press conferences so an owner like Kraft wouldnt do it, someone involved in personell would IE Bellichick. On our team Jerry is the GM therefore he did it. It is obvious by your "Jerrah um......" you were implying others dont hold these press conferences that Jerry did it because he was "arrogant etc" When in reality he did what other personell people in the league did. See in your mind it is wrong when Jerry does it but ok for everyone else. Know what that makes you?

Oh, goodness. At some point you have to just chalk it up as a loss and try to save face. You were simply proven wrong, ot at least uninformed.

It was pointed out over the weekend that many teams hold similar draft press conferences. It's simply the result of the growing media frenzy surrounding the event. More and more teams will likely begin to do so.

It would have been just as wrong had Wade (a real football mind) conducted the press conference, let alone a poseur like Jerry. Don't want criticism? Then don't call attention to yourself by pretending to be a "football guy"--even if the intent is to spread pre-draft misinformation. Know your place, Jerry.

he OWNS the team, he can do whatever the hell he wants, whatever happens in the draft is going to be the by-product of his investment, afterall, whoever we pick is being financed by Jerry's money: the players, Wade, Stephen, Jeff and all the other scouts who bring those players to his attention, are on his pay-roll, it's a shame that your small mind can't comprehend that, but alas

A fact I'm well aware of. That's not what we're taking about and you know it. I cited owners for a reason.

It's simply the result of the growing media frenzy surrounding the event. More and more teams will likely begin to do so.

And certain owners' supersized egos.

So your point is that very few owners hold draft press conferences? Isn't that point subsumed in the statement that very few owners act also as GMs? So your point is that Jerry, an owner, shouldn't also be a GM?

Seems kinda circular.

And certain owners' supersized egos.
Ego? Or a desire to increase the team's exposure, and thus increase the teams profitability?

I've been to non-Cowboys boards today and it's being discussed around the league. Seems like a sound business decision, if nothing else.

So what? That makes him immune from criticism? He can do no wrong? His serial screwups and grandstanding are to be ignored? Go shill somewhere else.

go to ES and moan about the horrible ego-maniac that is Jerry Jones, who is mucking everything up by not revealing anything

it's funny, all the responses stemming from Jerry's PC on here have been discussion of what's been said, except for your lame arse getting bent out of shape, as usual, we'll just strike this one up to ***** envy on your part

I only want to hear from Jerry on matters of dollars and cents and I never want to see him quoted after a game. Never.

"But it's his team! It's his plaything!"

Sadly, yes.

So your complaint is that he is the GM, and not that he had a pre-draft press conference?

I wish Jerry wouldn't give up so much information although after hearing it I'm not sure anyone knows what he said.

How many other owner/GMs had to have a pre-draft press conference?

He actually said WR in the first would be plausible because you can use different WRs in different packages. So someone like a Bowe or a Jarrett or a Ginn would be contributing as a starter from time to time throughout the season which what he wants out of a 1st rounder. He did also say "talking out of both sides of his mouth" that he could also see WR in the 2nd or 3rd as well.
