Actually more concern about the offense!

the only knock on Tyler being forced to play LT in an emergency crisis pinch, is we haven't ben giving him Any reps at all at that role spot in camp.
So he is very likely to be way out of synch and very rusty, that could take some serious time before he even becomes the least accommated to his former LT position again.
Him rusty is better then getting Dak killed with another backup

As I said in another response, when was the last time this offense had a great performance on the road against a quality opponent outside the division? This isn’t just about last season even when the defense was better
They beat the Vikings 40-3 when the Vikings were 8-1.

Beat Seattle 41-35

Cowboys beat the Lions with the controversial ending

I think you overestimate how many type of wins teams have like that.

For instance let’s go to the year Eagles won a the sb….

They were barely squeaking by teams. They destroyed average or below average teams.

You said it like he won every game
Nobody ever wins every game... but Mahomes and Kelcie routinely carved up defenses. As Did Manning, as did Brees, as did Rodgers, and on and on and on. Coaches knew Dallas of the 90s game plan, and yet the oline would smash the dline. Kind of like Mike Tyson said. Everyone has a plan, until they get punched in the mouth.

Just off the top of my head was the game in Tampa against the Bucs on the season opener a few years ago. I havent actually thought about it, but that immediately came to mind.

I remember games at Denver, buffalo, sfo were they totally be shut down

So the notion that we must play as a TEAM...and that each aspect can help or hurt...theteam....is dumb.

Right.

Some people just need to argue on the internet. No matter what it is.
The idea of playing as a team is that the defense supports the offense and vice versa.

You just said the opposite lol.

You argue without making a coherent point, forget about actually supporting it with any data

How many times have we seen this offense in a big game on the road truly compete, outside the division? Fully understand it is a team game and they were playing with one arm behind their backs with such a poor defense, but they just haven’t been competitive in those games.
We scored less than 20 points in four games last year (and in the game where we scored 20, against Philly, we should have scored more, but I know could have doesn't count). The four games were at Chicago (14), at home against Arizona (17), at home against the Chargers (17) and at the Giants in the last game of the season where we weren't playing for anything (17).

Probably only Chicago would meet the big game ... on the road ... outside the division criteria you've set, but that's a very limited criteria. The only other games that fall into that category would probably be at Denver, and we scored 24, and at Detroit, and we scored 30. Now, we weren't competitive, but if we'd have played decent defense, maybe we would have been.

You have to reasd EVERYTHING I wrote...noty just cherry pick what you THINK I mean. I'll highlight the important part for you:

If we were as deadly of an offense as some say....shouldn't be a problem. You march the ball right down their throat.

I mean...come on, right? A "top five offense"...but only when it's easy?

The FACT is both (all three) aspects of the game determine things. If the offense is really good, they're in the best position to do something about it. Offense is for OFFENSIVE. Defense is for on the defensive. Your suppose to have more control of the game being on the offensive.

If your so-called potent offense averages 7-10 pts in the first half...somethign is wrong.
If you don't understand or agree with the rest of it....no big deal.

No he's not I think people keep forgetting and the Cowboys are trying to cover it up and they're doing a good job with it he has severe tendonitis and 1 of his knees that will never go away it's kind of like Christian Mccaffrey with his tendonitis in his ankles his Achilles tendon nearly took him out for an entire year you have to manage these things he cannot play in space like he used to That is where the difference between a tackle and a guard is one has to have a hard kick step get outside really fast on a wide stance and that is really hard on your lower body..

So no he's not I just don't believe Tyler Smith will be the left tackle unless it's a crisis situation that most of us agree and we see it we Cowboys are doing a wonderful job covering up the fact when he has bad bouts of tendonitis he's not playing well they're not practicing him but they're not talking about it which is great but I remember and I know it's not gonna go away tendonitis does not go away trust me II still very active at 56 years old with some of the same sports I've done like wakeboarding snowboarding surfing and work and I have arthritis and tendonitis in my left shoulder elbow area and sometimes it feels great and other times I can barely sleep 'cause I can't even roll over on that side it hurts so bad..

Exactly and think about the mindset the offensive play caller is put in knowing his defense is so bad he has to now call plays to counteract that not normal what he would normally call to try to control and dictate flow and pace of a game knowing there is no time to do that that he literally has to come out and score because if he doesn't score in every drive they're going to get behind so they take more risks He's calling plays differently than he would if he had a better defense and better special teams..

If you eliminate the mistakes which is always tough penalties are one of them but you look back at Game 1 last year which we're heading into this year we had Philly on the ropes in the second half fumble the ball inside the 5 that was Sanders the drops by CD Lamb cost us the game those were mistakes not the character of our offense.. That would be one of the games we probably scored less points than we should have but it was because of all of the mistakes not the offense itself.. In that Chicago game you're talking about Williams had an uncharacteristic fumble again in the red zone Then we lost CD lamb for the second half and the same game CD Lamb and Pickens didn't play the first series..

That game was lost because of those small things added up not because that's what our offense can or can't do III think that's where New York is missing this..

They have been. It happens lol. I don’t think it’s realistic to think you are going to score a lot of points against good teams more than 50 percent of the time.

Kind of crazy, with the defense being historically bad last season, I am actually worried more about the offense:

-Tackle position scares me to death. I do like the addition of Jones, but the position can potentially wreck the season
-Slow starts. They cannot take a quarter off to get it going. Cannot be shut out in a half.
-Inability to finish drives. Lack of execution, penalties, turnover, drops, play calling.
-Have to become more aggressive in going for it on 4th downs, settle too much for long FG's.
-Need more production in the passing game from the TE position. Ferguson has to start connecting with the seam routes.
-depth at running back, Williams wore down in the 2nd half of last season, don't trust our depth behind him
-Have to be more competitive against the elite teams
Red zone is key. We’ve kicked too many FG. Fix red zone and that fixes a lot of the problem

I’m concerned about RT and RB2 and RB3. Not that I don’t like Malik Davis, but I’d rather have a real speed guy at RB2.

If the RT gets Prescott injured, the season is essentially over.

But that’s all there is to be concerned about with this offense imo. The offense last year put up a ton of points despite the red zone issues. Enough points to win far more games than they did.

Oh, I'm not sold completely on our offense, especially when it comes to playoff football where you face more teams with fewer flaws. I just believe the way our offense played overall last year puts us in the playoffs with an average defense. Now, if somehow we build more than an average defense, then we can get into the conversation for playoff success. But if we're just relying on the offense, there are going to be times when we go up against strong defensive teams and need help from that side of the ball. There are going to be teams with defensive ends that are better than our tackles and defensive backs that can stay with our receivers long enough for those ends to get home. Would I like for that not to be the case? Absolutely. I would like for us to have the best built team in the league. But I just don't think overall that it is the offense that we should be concerned about despite its flaws.

The Demercado pickup is interesting because he does bring a bit of a speed element to the offense. He's not fast fast, but he has better jets than Williams and Davis. I mean, he's not a 4.3 or 4.2 guy, but he's about average speedwise among most teams' starters and backups. The 4.2/4.3 guys are more unusual the 4.4/4.5 guys.
