What good would that pettiness do?If DM signs with Philly JJ better go get AD really fast. And I'd smear it into Murray's face with a good deal too.

And I'd love to hear the plan they got going on in Philly. Signing Murray makes the McCoy move very confusing. It seems Chip is just winging it right now with no plan in place.
AP is NOT a FA. Minn. is not going to release him until at least June.
They want to keep him for less money not release him.
lets see how that work out... even though it seems like he doesn't, I think AP agent will play a part in how this works out...
they ultimately would like to trade him, than have a disgruntled 15 million dollar contract on their roster... that's just divisive
I don't get the 'just go out and sign AP" talk. We are letting DM, 5 yr vet and NFL rushing leader, because we don't want to pay over $6mil/yr. But now people want us to sign a 9 yr veteran RB who wants $25 mil guaranteed over 3 years (over $8mil/yr).
Somehow I just don't see that happening.
I don't want Spiller. Not because I don't think he can produce here, but because he's not a feature back and his signing would mean a return to a two back system.

I told my son to hold off on buying a Murray Jersey. As usual, good sound advice.

This seems like a classic Cowboys move under Jerry that works. It's not like we have a hardline stance on not resigning Murray and paying age long term. We are willing to do it. We're just not willing to be the highest bidder. So Philly forces us to make the eventual right decision in letting Murray go.
We wanted to do the wrong thing. Someone else just wanted to do it more.
I have to admit RS, you are on your game today. Good takes in this thread. The Cowboys aren't in the appeasing players business. That only leads to bad contracts and being smothered in dead money. They're trying to run a football team that can have long term sustained success. I salute being reluctant to hand out big FA deals to anyone.
I think holding off on buying any jersey these days is good advice. You will be lucky to get more than a few years worth out of it.
If they do cut him and designate him a June 1st cut to split the dead money, they will probably wait until all the cap
money is exhausted and the draft is completed with all those RB's coming out.
I think panic is now appropriate.
